Impeach Trump. Munchkin is a Burma Shave sign on the way there.
He went on to offer a civics lesson to the senator: “This is why there three branches of government. If there is a difference of opinion, this will go to the third branch of government.”
The arrogance is so think it drips off the words. Reminds me of one of Gorsuch’s first appearances on the Court when he started lecturing to the other Justices.
On a more general note - has their been a worse Sec. of the Treasury in recent history? In American history? I am betting that dude is not going to be treated well in the history books.
Flipping the bird, daring the Committees to action.
Impeach them all!!!
Mnuchin added:
“I cannot articulate a reason for the IRS to fail to comply with the simple, straightforward law which I am directing it to break. Therefore, I will claim it is a political dispute between two branches, pretending that the concept of government itself does not rely on all three branches being subject to the rule of law.”
$50 says this chinless weasel eventually goes down. He’s too arrogant and stupid. He’ll do something Trump perceives as embarrassing or “weak,” and Trump will fire him by tweet.
Mnuchin…
Washington’s new most punchable face.
Them is fightin’ words. Mulvaney is right up there, as is Jared, Junior, Eric, god … who ISN’T punchable?
He went on to offer a civics lesson to the senator:
I hope this is snark. After yesterday’s “House Grab For Trump Finances”, I’m taking a great many things in TPM under advisement.
Andrew Mellon?
No,no,no,no,no… that’s Stephen Miller, impossible to beat that SOB.
Honey-bunny will pressure him because she doesn’t have the wardrobe and shoes for prison visits…
I believe a tactical nuclear weapon is in order.
Take out the whole lot
for reference purposes …
Rep. Lloyd Doggett (D-TX) called for the jailing of Trump
administration officials who are stonewalling investigations,
““We should consider the power of inherent contempt, an
old doctrine that allows the Congress itself to issue a
summons, arrest warrant to an official and demand they
appear at a congressional hearing, be subject to fines,
to jail time. I think we ought to explore contracting with
area correctional institutions, provide additional support to
the sergeant in arms,
so the White House knows we’re serious.”
and …
Rep. Bill Pascrell (D-NJ) of the House Ways and Means
committee called for Steve Mnuchin to be jailed if he
doesn’t hand over Trump’s tax returns.
Being offensive is sometimes being on offense. At this time we are not. Nor will we be until Investigations/Trump Impeachment take center stage.
Munchkin is taking the lead of the person he answers to. For example, anyone can see the shift in personality of Barr before becoming A.G. and then during visits to Congress–and that difference was not all attributed to the pandering he had to do to get Confirmed.
If I were anyone in Democratic leadership, the number one immediate task is to get the Investigations underway.
Otherwise this little shrimp will be, well, a little shrimp laughing at people who have not taken the offense yet.
They say that the Allies had so much information sophistication before Overlord that Hitler still was thinking about alternative sites even as the Allies had hit the right beaches.
If the Dems cannot bring themselves to Impeach, they had better learn how to dissemble and threaten better.
He may be tactless and that may be his Achilles heel, but he ain’t stupid. He’s made a fortune with a combination of financial acumen and good ol’ grifting smarts.
I am ok with him sitting in jail while the court decides the matter, might make them want to speed up the process.
Corruption at the DOJ is no more apparent than it is when it comes to the IRS tax law that they’re blatantly ignoring to cover up for their criminal boss
Honey-bunny will pressure him because she doesn’t have the wardrobe and shoes for prison visits…
Or the perfect opportunity for … “Right now I need my own personal space. A lot to think about.”
See ya Stevie.
