Discussion: Mitt Romney Slams Trump For 'Coddling' KKK's 'Repugnant Bigotry'

I think it’s bad going for Trump if he’s lost the eternal priesthood vote and their constituents on Kolob.

Hmmm… laying the groundwork for a brokered convention or something like that?

Donald Trump blamed his failure to denounce an endorsement from an ex-Ku Klux Klan leader on a “lousy earpiece,”

Lousy earpiece. Lousy hairpiece. Lousy memory. It’s always something.

Did Mitt Romney ever disavow the Mormon Church’s practice of postmortem baptisms of Jewish Holocaust victims? For that matter, has he ever denounced the Mormon Church’s racist, sexist, and homophobic practices?
No? Then shut up.

You’d think with his wealth he’d have the BESTEST, HUUUUUUGEST most technologically advanced earpeice that money could buy. Why is he relying on shitty equipment that idiots give him?

I was wondering the same thing. Maybe I’m too cynical when it comes to politics, but I do wonder what Romney’s angle is here. Why has he become such a vocal critic of Trump in the last week or so? Is he meant to represent the Republican establishment, going after Trump in a way that the RNC cannot?

OMG, I’m going to have to stockpile popcorn if the 'pubs try to pull off a switch-a-roo at their convention.

Can you imagine the torches and pitchforks if they take down St. Drumpf and substitute Mittenbot?

Of course I felt compelled to look that up. It’s 5% of Mormons world wide and 3% of Mormons in the United States. Three black Mormon names that shocked the shit out of me: Jabari Parker, Gladys Knight and Eldridge Cleaver (what?).

Man, the knives are out everywhere you look. Did the Ides of March come early this year?

Screw you Mitt - you know his only transgression was openly admitting to his bigotry. Being a bigot is part of being a Republican.

I smell a meme…“disqualifying”. Ain’t gonna work though. It’s too late.

TPM:

After Republican frontrunner Donald Trump blamed his failure to denounce an endorsement from an ex-Ku Klux Klan leader on a “lousy earpiece,” former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney called the response “disqualifying.”

Really, Mitt? That’s what’s disqualifying? You’re okay with Trump, for instance, calling Mexicans rapists and drug dealers, or retweeting white supremacists, or being a con artist who bilked people with a fake “university”, or being a bigoted, bullying, narcissistic swine. But blame his problems on an earpiece, and that’s where you draw the line?

You got a finely honed sense on how to cut to the quick of an ethical quandary there, doncha Mitt?

The Mormon church didn’t even acknowledge blacks in the mid 1970s.

Hey Mittens, how about slamming your Republican party for coddling the bigots who are happily supporting Donald? His repugnant views didn’t spring up yesterday. They have been carefully cultivated by the Grand Old Party, its politicians and its media outlets, for several decades now.

I sure am enjoying seeing a former GOP candidate saying that the current likely nominee is not qualified. Pass the popcorn!

I have never once heard anyone from the GOP doing this so why should Trump. Everyone in the GOP has stood by while Fox and the right wing radio ginned up race wars and class wars and now they want Trump to act civilized. Puleeasse.

Who let the dog whistles out, Mitt? Who? Who? Who?

Great hearing that Not-President #44 is criticizing Not-Ever-Going-To-Be-President #45.
