I can’t disagree with the negative sentiment in the other comments, but I give the guy a measure of credit for coming forward and admitting as much as he did. Typically there’s more avoidance and weaseling at this point, prior to the inevitable confession.

Naturally the name of Monica Lewinsky comes to mind when the conversation is about interns and powerful men. But she’s revealed lately how devastating it was to be the reason “slut shaming” as a thing came to exist. This sweet young thing has no memory of that episode so she seems to have jumped in eagerly.Maybe she’ll grow up later on.

I hate to break it to her attorney, but nobody else is interested in her workings at the state Capitol either. Its her “workings” OUT of the capitol that is putting her at the center of the debate.

Poor judgment? No, Mr. Family Values Republican. This is the way Christian Wrong Republicans really swing when they think no one will ever find out. From the drunken Palin Clan to sleezy GOP legislators across the country and Washington, DC, they are all religious frauds and the worst sort of moral hypocrites.
It always helps if citizens do not vote for those that routinely collaborate with those that put their own personal wealth above the general welfare of their own country and countrymen. It’s called graft and corruption and the GOP specializes in it.
When Tom DeLay proudly created the K Street lobbying empire, it should have been a clue as to where his party was going…right into the gutter.
Can’t we just get back to governing to promote the general welfare of everyone instead of obsessing on social issues that do nothing to fix the aging infrastructure, create middle class standard of living jobs, promote long term economic growth or protect this nation from multinational threats both military and economic?

The Republicans had no one better to replace Vitters. It’s the same problem Republicans are having nationwide with their presidential nomination. What’s so sad is that voters in these red states are so fed up with the greed and social hypocrisy but can’t break free from the Reagan myth and their fears left over from the 911 attack. They will just keep settling for corruption and underemployment rather than face the reality. At some point their children and changing demographics will not.
Progressives and decent people in general usually expect more of themselves and the people they elected to office. Not always, but generally. Just look at the track record of both parties since the Joe McCarthy Era.
He was bored. Republicans are dedicated to making government not work, so they don’t work when they are elected. What else was he supposed to do with his time? Volunteer at a nursing home or food pantry? After all, the poor and sick need to take personal responsibility for their situation not expect the rich and politically corrupt to chip in and find workable solutions to society’s problems.
Why wasn’t this GOP clown on a political junket at some resort overseas playing golf with a foreign dictator? He’s too slimy for even the worst of the Top 1%?
