Discussion: Missouri Councilman Explains Racist Facebook Posts: 'I Was A Very Active Republican'

So you’re saying the Republican inclination to eliminate Mental Health funding is actually a voter retention strategy? OK, that makes sense.

And they don’t realize Facebook is a public thing on what used to be called the World Wide Web. It feels so entre nous, and they get surprised over and over again when they get in trouble over it, like sexting teens.

Most honest apology a republican has ever given.

Actually, I think his remarks - his 'SPLANATIONS - show that he’s convinced you DO have “be” racist to be Republican, but to be an EFFECTIVE Republican, you have to make sure you keep it all entre nous.

Or as Bill Maher put it: Not all Republicans are racist, but if you are a racist, chances are that you are a Republican.

Reminds me of a tweet I saw recently. “I’ve got a brand new app that tells me which of my relatives are racist. It’s called Facebook.”

Kinda maybe helps explain the “conservative” majority ruling on the Voting Rights Act: it’s not that there’s no racism in America anymore, it’s that nasty destructive racism has been displaced by nice constructive Republicanism.

It’s the RE-BRANDING MADE MANIFEST!

So he is saying that Republican=Racist–and basically that’s their self-identification?

“A Republican city councilman in Missouri apologized this week for
posting racist messages about President Obama on Facebook, citing his
own strong engagement with the Republican Party as the reason behind his
actions.”

Total bullcrap.
Is he saying being a republican made me a totally mindless effing racist bloodsuckingly demented politician? Well… OK then.

I’m sure he will tell you how much he just loves Condi Rice, Allen West etc.

I truly hope that this is indeed their delusion, and that they are convinced that the more open they are about it, the more they will get people on board with them.

Disgusting fools with no understanding of other people, as evidenced by their ‘knowledge’ of black people coming from hand-me-down negative stereotypes from the early Reagan years…

And everyone is trying to call what happened in Ferguson-peaceful protests–“riots” If there was any riot it was on the part of the police.

man what an excuse. He is saying that to be staunch republican you have to be a racist. Who knew?

Oh, It is and he is. Very much so.

Kind of like the old joke Bill Maher made after 911… A guy with 8 American flags on his car pulled up beside a car with 4 American flags, rolled down his window and yelled, "GO BACK TO AFGHANISTAN!

Well, refuse to raise the minimum wage, defund public education, make college, health care, decent housing unaffordable, make access to birth control/abortion harder…

They’ve worked their horrible magic all right.

Oh, I forgot to mention WAR. Horrible.

Let me see, he’s not a racist, but he used to be one when he was an ‘active Republican’. So what is he now? If he’s still a Republican, then he’s still a racist. Although he may get booted from the party for not using the code words.

“I apologize from the bottom of my heart,” Tinsley said. “At one time, I was a very active republican, very opposed to Obama.”

OK, so what flavor of politics does he follow now? I mean is he a member of the Green Party? I mean his answer makes me think he’s changed his party affiliation.
