Discussion: Missouri Cop Who Called Ferguson Protestors 'Rabid Dogs' Fired

Discussion for article #227093

Hopefully these firings, forced resignations and retirements are not just the tip of the iceberg but the beginning of a more deeper cleanup among the police force. Every department in each corner of the Country should look among it’s ranks and get rid of those officers who think and act in the very same way as these idiots in uniform.

I’m not even going to call this irony: white cops who openly display contempt for black citizens who are protesting that the overwhelmingly white police department openly treats the city’s black citizens with contempt.

He shouldn’t worry, if shooting a black kid gets you $400,000 in donations despite no charges being filed, I’m sure getting fired for being an asshole will get him $100,000 in racist welfare.

“A St. Louis-area police department announced on Thursday it had fired on officer”

Wow, they really ARE trigger-happy.

They need to continue to clean house, not just there but at all the police department around the country. Something has to stop the killing. Some of the shooting is not needed and is done because the police got a gun and want to play cops and robber. It is getting to be like the old west almost before you know it will be a shoot out between cops and the victims. Right now it is more like the cops is doing the killing in place of lynching from the pass but sooner or later the tables are going to turn and it won’t be a pretty sight. The people who keep encouraging this will be hiding in a corner until it is all over and then it will be too late to say sorry we didn’t mean it. People now know they will protest and march and it will spread like wildfire from state to state.

He’ll contest his firing, and considering how most of these things go, he’ll probably get his job back. They said that St. Ann lieutenant resigned, but as he had 20 years on the job, he probably retired, even though he might not get his benefits yet.

Wasn’t Glendale where Wilson worked before – and the town council decided they had to fire the ENTIRE POLICE DEPARTMENT because of poor race relations?

Rightwing racists like these cops always fail up. He’ll be hired by another police department within a week. Or he’ll go out on “disability” or retire and make money on the side as an armed guard or building security, unaccountable and able to take out his racist white rage on innocent mall-goers or people picking up their children from day care. Or maybe he’ll get a paid position on Fox “News” or with the Oath Keepers. Or open a machine gun shooting range in Arizona. His retirement money will enable him to ride full time with the Missouri Klan.

Yeah, I’ll bet he’s “a mess.”

Better late than never, I suppose, but this cop should have been fired the next day.

He’s a mess right now. It’s an embarrassment.

What horseshit. This guy is considered a hero by the whites in his suburban neighborhood. They cheer him wherever he goes, and he salutes back like a conquering hero. He never has to buy another beer in his life as long as stays in whitey land. And that’s just how he wants it.

Unfortunately, if firing bigoted police were handled fairly and uniformly, Missouri (and many other locals) would be left with maybe 10-15% of the force.

One cop gets fired for stupid postings. Another gets to retire at full pension after an hour long lecture/rant in which the most awful things about Ferguson protesters were said to the audience. And the rant was recorded for posterity. I think both cops should be fired as they were clearly out of line.

And just think, there were no problems at all before the slaying.

How did people publicize their own idiocy before Facebook and Twitter were invented?

I believe that police department was in the town of Jennings.

Yep Jennings, MO had to disband their dept and all officers were let go, but could re-apply to new force. Wilson was one of the cops on that force

I want to know where Ferguson Chief Jackson came from. Where did he fail up from? Anybody know if he was from Jennings PD?
