Yes. Taking down the confederate flag will not end racism.
What is being asked of African Americans is that they continue EVERY DAY to be faced with the names and symbols of the confederacy that fought to keep them enslaved. To be faced with their names on the roads they drive on, in titles of the schools they send their children to, and by the flags that fly over their state capitals.
And we say no.
That war ended long ago. It is long past time to put it in its proper place: behind us.

Oh if he was a Muslim, it would have been so , It also would have made the nightly news and would have been at the top of the news cycle for a week with conservatives claiming he was too dangerous to be tried in the US and should be shipped to Guantanamo

A Fresno State freshman football player was arrested over making a terrorist threat, police said Tuesday.
Fresno State Police Chief David Huerta said Christian Pryor, 18, was in custody in relation to a post on Yik Yak, an anonymous social-media application.
Pryor — who freshman from Los Angeles majoring in business, according to what appeared to be his football bio — was arrested in the Athletic Department offices on campus and taken to Fresno County Jail “on a charge of terrorist threat,” according to the school.
A young black man threatens violence and is charged with terrorism. No violence occurred.
A 61 year old white man actually completes the act of bombing a retail store, after publicizing threats to do so. He fulfills the plot. It is premeditated. Damage occurred. Lives were at risk. He is charged with "detonating an explosive".
Justice in the United States.

Of course somebody who bombs a Walmart because it stopped selling the stars and bars is a rightwing lunatic. But that’s just what they want you to think. Leonard actually bombed the Walmart to disrupt the planned invasion of Tupelo by all those jack-booted gummint thugs that Obama has positioned in vast basements underneath Walmarts in strategic locations throughout this great land of ours.
And I think that no one here will deny the strategic importance of Tupelo. Control Tupelo, and you control all of Lee County. Enough said.

Or, try this on for size. Imagine Walmart was refusing to carry contraceptive products. An employee of a Planned Parenthood facility threw the same device into the store after posting to Facebook their displeasure with Walmart’s contraceptive product policy. The entire Republican caucus of the U.S. House would be clamoring for the perp to get 20 years in the electric chair.
