Discussion: Mission Accomplished: Bush Says Iraq Question Got 'Bumpy' But 'Ship Is Stable' Now

Discussion for article #236582

" ISIS didn’t exist when my brother was president. Al Qaeda in Iraq was wiped out when my brother was president." "

Actually, al Qaeda didn’t exist in Iraq when your brother was selected as President, either. They came along AFTER he invaded the country. The blame lands squarely on his shoulders for both.

But nice try on attempting to turn the question into nothing at all like what it actually was. I mean, you are busy revamping your brother’s history, why not revamp those troublesome questions that you know, you have had over a decade to come up with an answer, yet still managed to stumble over and mangle worse than ever did the English language…and that IS saying something.

“I actually gave a pretty good answer to the question but it was not the question she asked,” Bush said of his initial comments, which came in an interview with Fox News’ Megyn Kelly. “And then it got bumpy —it got a little bumpy. But all is well now. The ship is stable.” … but still sinking. :o)

Pretty shocking to find out he’s a bigger moron than his brother.

Yup - every problem a President faces allows 4 do-overs before settling on an answer. Looks like Jeb would need to call a friend on a regular basis. Not hardly a time to be feeling smug there.

Actually, he didn’t give a good answer, no matter what the question was. Knowing what we knew then and what we know now, it was a horrible decision and one that has had enormously grave consequences.

But all is well now. The ship is stable.

Sorry Jeb, So long as blood continues to flow in Iraq, Syria, Yemen, and elsewhere in the Middle East, the “ship” will not be stable. And as long as you and others in your party continue to believe that all this was not triggered by your brother’s insane decision to invade Iraq in 2003, we are all doomed to continue living with this tragedy. More and more, your comments on the subject prove your incompetence to be President.

the ship is rudderless. it definitely is not stable. jeb speaks, people listen. then they say, “i had no idea this guy was such a pandering dolt.”

It took Bush’s handlers this long to come up with this literally unbelievable story and deflection or responsibility?? Really?? The incompetence and arrogance is astounding.

The SS Mother Bush is stable…

…There is no reason to panic:

Interesting the way he turns the whole thing back to himself, then declares it over. Sorry, dude, it’s still about the blood, destruction, wasted lives and money, not your lame answer. And you don’t get to decide when the topic is finished, especially when the news from Iraq keeps reminding people how your brother f^ck#d it up in the first place.

(Forgive my selection of wording-- it’s not something I throw down without obvious misgiving.)

This man is a political retard.
How else to view him?

  • $3T wasted.
  • 10K US casualties
  • Untold scores-to-hundreds-of-thousands of indigenous casualties.
  • Multiple terrorist organizations birthed and inspired.

Bumpy. Bumpy?!
Bumpy is a pothole.
Iraq is a sh^thole.

I think he’s absolutely right and that he’ll be totally vindicated in his opinion and prediction, so long as no one noticed this slo-mo train wreck happen and everyone has a brain seizure and forgets about it and if he gets the RNC nomination the Dem nominee for whatever reason decides never to raise it, plus all the video of his various answers goes missing until 2017.

Should be a no-brainer!

This is an indication of how addled Jeb’s thinking is on a subject of major importance, I am not a political advisor but here is some generic advice…when you find yourself in a hole this deep, of your own making…stop digging.

Correct. Jeb is 6’3" while Dubya is 6’

By any standard of measurement, he is.

Shows when he uses the same absurd statement as his brother thinking it would provide a different outcome… yea… “Mission accomplished” alright.

JEB is like every other Republican. They only wanna talk about Iraq from January 2007 forward. McCain did the same thing in 2008.
