Maybe it would help Americaâs moral and legal authority if we did not do extrajudicial torture and killings.
Just sayinâ
I wonder who is on President Trumpâs âKill Listâ this morning?
No democracy, no justice.
This whole thing makes me sick. Listening to Trump shrug this off because he wasnât a REAL American citizen and the arms sale to the Saudis was SO much more important turns my stomach. This is the America that the world sees. Uncaring, selfish bastids out to own the world.
And if I can borrow a phrase from Trumpâs explanation of Putinâs military annexation of Crimea - Khashoggi may be dead âin a certain kind of wayâ.
Whatâs the going rate - one Get Out of Jail card for every $10 billion spent on US military hardware???
Profiles in courage:
Trump: âKhashoggi not our concern, not a U.S. citizenâ
Sam Houston: âForget the Alamo. Technically not U.S. territoryâ.
Teddy Roosevelt: âRemember the âMaineâ? Nah. Possibly boiler explosionâ
FDR: âWar over Pearl Harbor? Wait, investigate! It mightâve been Thailand, and I have Mitsubishi stock to think aboutâ.
G.W. Bush: â9-11 no biggie, probably freak airline accidentâ
.
Remember when Rand Paul was pontificating and doing a filibuster over President Obamaâs âkill lists?â
He refused to sign the letter from the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
Trumpâs response⊠disgusting. But (despicably) understandable based on Trumpâs M.O. âfollow the moneyâ (to trump - not the arms deal - unless he gets a cut of that, too) sort of way.
Ya little jerry fallwell,Trump is a very moral man.
MBS figures that Putin has been doing this kind of shit for years and hasnât really paid a major price, so why not get into the âbrazenly assassinate dissidentsâ business as well?
Everyone has talked about Trumpâs Russia ties and Russian interference in the election, but thereâs an equally important story to be unraveled about just how much the KSA (along with the UAE) has corrupted this administration as well. There are just as many, if not more, nefarious connections between Trumpworld and KSA as Trumpworld and Russia. Recall that Paul Manafort was brought to Trump by his old friend Tom Barrack, because Barrack and Manafort had worked together on Saudi development deals. And then there are the KushnersâŠ
Funny you should mention democracy and justice. Theyâre right at the top of that âKill Listâ you mentioned.
In his editorial blog, Josh asked the question if this is the reason why Kashoggi was killed. I think the answer is a resounding yes, because this is more than just writing an editorial or an unflattering article.
This guy was doing the hard work needed for ACTUAL change. If the story about this group he was forming is true, then he was literally working to get people to work together and compromise which would be a true threat to the Saudi Monarchy. Oh I almost forgot: it was also SECULAR.
So yes, he absolutely wouldâve been killed for that.
p.s. My condolences to his family and fiancĂ©e. Very sadâŠ
