Even if they are eradicated there are many more, now only children, who will take their place in the future.
Until the leaders and royals in the Arab states stop hoarding oil income for themselves and their families not squat will change. The impoverished majorities in these states breed like rabbits and their progeny have little to no chance of improving their lot in life.
The leaders and royals cast blame everywhere but at themselves. So what we have is unfranschised young men, angry and disillusioned who are easily recruited and convinced as to who their oppressors are.
Why is it that every time some leads into a post with a statement that “I’m a liberal but…” they follow up by saying something that shows very little understanding of what liberalism is about?
From where I sit these groups need to be stopped and the atrocities they are committing prevented but – unfortunately – their behaviors do not differentiate them much from the rest of the human race. The feuding between the Protestants and the Catholics during the Reformation comes to minds, as does slavery and as does the behavior of Germany in the last century. We do not now the exact parameters but it is clear that under certain social circumstances humans behave very badly.
AJM – I don’t ask for nor need your approval nor did I ever sign onto the official I Am A Liberal manifesto. I am a liberal in a lot of ways but that doesn’t mean I have to be a sap. I reject the notion that being liberal means I have to eat everything off of a special buffet table. No, I don’t.
They appear to not be ready to accept two factions of the same religion within their borders. What a surprise not, since this has been happening for several centuries already. They will stop cutting off each others heads when their society begins to mature…in the meantime we should stay out of the line of fire. Those folks are just plain crazy with hatred for the modern world. When they end up tossing rocks they may begin to stop the madness.
