I agree with everything I see written in these posts. What astounds me, and saddens me is the number of people in this country who still post horrible statements about her. Reading only TPM posts might give you the false illusion that there is universal love for the Obamas. Take a look at some right wing blogs. It’s nasty out there!

Thanks yourself. I do communications stuff for a living, and because it’s meaningful to me, so it’s nice to hear someone say he or she heard me. We both had the same reaction, and it’s a good thing to share. Both Obamas are a-ma-zing communicators. This cycle didn’t produce the results we wanted, but damn if it wasn’t gratifying to see what Hillary and Michelle can pull up out of themselves when the game is on the line. It’s character, not spin. You can’t buy it, you can’t fake it. And it’s part of America too, an undeniable part of the complex and often-troubling but often-inspiring picture of this society. We’re in a dark valley right now but despair doesn’t help. Hope. That’s the ticket. Remember those people saying “Charlton Heston is my president”? That’s how I feel about Barack Obama. We chose him as a leader twice. We’re not irredeemable. We made a bad, bad mistake, by inches, but the best of us will resist and maybe prevail. Stay tuned, sports fans.

How long would it take for Trump or any of the hopeless jackals in the GOP TO approach this level of sincerity and concern for ordinary Americans…? You won’t see it in your entire lifetime.
