At the rate things are going? Yes we will.
I agree with everything I see written in these posts. What astounds me, and saddens me is the number of people in this country who still post horrible statements about her. Reading only TPM posts might give you the false illusion that there is universal love for the Obamas. Take a look at some right wing blogs. Itâs nasty out there!
Thank you Madam First Lady.
I cried my eyes out. What class, grace and dignity. Thank you, thank you, thank you for reminding us what this country could be.
Thank you, Mattinpa, I wish I could write like you do.
Thanks yourself. I do communications stuff for a living, and because itâs meaningful to me, so itâs nice to hear someone say he or she heard me. We both had the same reaction, and itâs a good thing to share. Both Obamas are a-ma-zing communicators. This cycle didnât produce the results we wanted, but damn if it wasnât gratifying to see what Hillary and Michelle can pull up out of themselves when the game is on the line. Itâs character, not spin. You canât buy it, you canât fake it. And itâs part of America too, an undeniable part of the complex and often-troubling but often-inspiring picture of this society. Weâre in a dark valley right now but despair doesnât help. Hope. Thatâs the ticket. Remember those people saying âCharlton Heston is my presidentâ? Thatâs how I feel about Barack Obama. We chose him as a leader twice. Weâre not irredeemable. We made a bad, bad mistake, by inches, but the best of us will resist and maybe prevail. Stay tuned, sports fans.
Thanks Matt. Well said, as usual.
How long would it take for Trump or any of the hopeless jackals in the GOP TO approach this level of sincerity and concern for ordinary AmericansâŚ? You wonât see it in your entire lifetime.
