I admire this woman more with each passing day.

Why aren’t these articles proofread before the “publish” button is hit? It’s “bear” not “bare,” which changes the connotation of the quote. Sheesh.

I saw what you did there. Of course, you would have to be as stupid as Donald Trump not to see what you did there. LOL!

“Those are the only fights you had on the South Side. What? You thought people were debating? No, girl. We were throwing down — like, kickin’.”

I’m really not sure how I could love her more and yet I do every time she opens her mouth.

I noticed that too. I wonder if they’re using dictation software. Spell checking really isn’t enough.

It’s common these days for linguists to pooh-pooh the concept of proper grammar usage and spelling. Their trope is “Our language is whatever the users say it is, if it’s accepted as normal among a peer group that automatically makes it proper.”

Hence fifty cents becomes fitty cents. An ambulance is an ambalance. You “hat” a good time, not had a good time. And it’s all proper. Not a grammar error in the bunch.

SMH.

Has the whole world gone crazy? Am I the only one here who gives a shit about the rules? My buddies didn’t die lying facedown in the muck at Bowling Green just so these jackoffs can pretend that communication doesn’t matter!

And “oxymoron” does not mean “contradiction.”
Contradiction is exactly what it doesn’t mean.
An oxymoron is a non-contradictory phrase or other grammatical object made up of contradictory elements.
“Military intelligence is an oxymoron” is a funny way of saying that the military is stupid using the indirection of asserting that “military intelligence” is not a contradiction, OK?

Thank you. I was just going to e-mail TPM about that exact typo.
