Some of these God-Nuts are on the record as saying that they think Trump is superior to Jesus Christ.
I saw an interview of a Roy Moore supporter who said that if Jesus appeared on Earth and contradicted Trump, he would believe Trump.
What really is going on here is that they ābelieveā what makes them feel good to ābelieveā. Worshipping Trump and cheering his hate-speech is what makes them feel most good. Previously they had to rely on people claiming to speak for Jesus, but Trump just speaks for himself. So Trump is better than Jesus.
