Discussion: Michael Cohen Hires New Attorney To Represent Him In New York Probe

Michael Cohen has a much better defense lawyer than Trump. It says a lot that Trump has more trouble finding a decent lawyer than a scumbag like Cohen.

“White shoe” law firm. It’s really living up to it’s name.

So, does this mean Cohen is more or less likely to flip? Is Petrillo on board to handle the negotiations?

Sounds like the right guy to negotiate the best deal.

Sounds like someone who would know how to negotiate. How big is the firm? Because any defense is going to take armies of associates and support staff.

Cohen is likely going to flip very soon and wants to get the best plea deal possible. If McClatchy is to be believed, law firms have rejected offers to represent him because they don’t have experience with making plea deals like Cohen requested.

The firm’s website lists 4 partners, 8 associates, 1 of counsel.

Doesn’t seem big enough for an all-out defense, unless they contract out some work.

I think a deal’s in the making - or at least the attempt.

ETA: This could be a factor in the recent Trump tweet-storms and the unhinged speech today. Can’t wait to hear what he says at the ego-boost rally tomorrow.

Cohen better have some prime proffer because SDNY already has him dead to rights. I like that SDNY has left him swinging in the breeze up to now. His desperation is growing by the day. Good.

He has significant experience in fraud and money laundering, which is definitely white collar.

But what about a “fixer”? Is that white or blue collar? The money exchanging hands are white, I suppose, but the accompanying threats are more likely black and blue collar.

Can’t wait to see Avenatti’s take on this.

As the clock continues to run, the legal costs for Cohen escalate creating the incentive for him to flip.

Rest assured that he does.

That’s why he hired this former prosecutor—he needed someone who is conversant with how the SDNY staff deals with proffers and plea agreements.

When it happens, it’s going to be epic.

May it be thus, new man.

Who cares about you, Cohen, you are a stupid putz. Of course if you care to sing like a bird :bird:, I’ll be all ears!

The lawyer firm must have flipped a coin on this guy.
30 days and the lawyer will be burned out and need to be paid.
expect change of venue for cohen.
Mueller’s office or prison.
mmmmm
Prison and a stupid lawyers reputation for thinking he could save him. lol

So is Trump paying Petrillo? After all, Cohen couldn’t pay his last lawyers, so where is he getting the money from for this guy?

The New York Times reported that the break was due in part to issues related to Cohen’s payment of Ryan’s legal bills.

So, is Petrillo going to represent Cohen pro bono?

Per the website of his firm, Petrillo Klein & Boxer, he is “regularly engaged by clients in criminal and civil matters prosecuted by the Department Justice.”

Looks like his firm can use a good proofreader.
