He should stay in CO and run against Gardner who right now is flailing. But it seems Westerners don’t want the commute a senate seat would require and want to settle in just once to Penn. Ave.
I’d like to see certain candidates aim lower and challenge incumbent R senators in their states rather than reach for the brass ring which only one person can win. The rest will be discarded and the composition of the senate which could shift to the left because of capable Ds won’t.
Hickenlooper has already said he is not geared for a legislative gig and is all in for a presidential run. Beto, alas won’t run for Cornyn’s seat.
Oh, wow – this is actual news: somebody announcing he is NOT running for president next year.
After a long and productive consultation with my cats, I have also decided not to run for president. Remus thought knocking over the statuary in the WH might be diverting, but Lily and Phoebe are convinced there’s not enough cat urine on the planet to get the smell of Trump out of the place.
Not sure the Senate spends a lot of time being legislative…should really be a problem.
… A–Mew-sing
Which reminds me, whatever happened to Howard? Did he step deeply enough to notice it was a turd?
We have an abundance of very sharp Democrats.
Excellent. We don’t need any more billionaires. Nor do we need any more centrists. And we need centrist billionaires like we need another trump in the oval.
I could see maybe Interior Secretary if he wants to run something big like a cabinet department…
I can sympathize not wanting to run for Senate.
Maybe he rounds out a ticket if (somehow) Gillibrand or Booker manage to land the nomination.
How do we get to a Democratic majority in the senate, the body which would vote to convict PP after impeachment, if no good Dems want to run for a seat? If more western state pols felt like this we wouldn’t have Harris or Feinstein in the senate, or Cantwell and Murray or Wyden and Merkley.
I’m going to throw another thought out which might draw groans. Only three senators have ever been elected to the presidency, Harding, JFK and BHO. Three in 200+ plus years.
I’m with you.
He can win the Senate seat.
I dont see his path to the nomination
We need serious challengers for all seats in 2020.
Good. He is far too clueless in his rich man’s bubble to be even mediocre as a president. But not as clueless as Schultz, not by a long shot.
To be fair, I’m thinking of not running. I’ve formed the exploratory committee, but the fundraising has been quite disappointing so far…
Bloomberg doesn’t ride the NY subway and has multiple homes, but he’s more in touch with what people want than any other candidate on the subject of gun control and has organized Everytown For Gun Safety.
Bloomberg told the New York Times he plans to spend $50 million in 2014 on the initiative, which will focus not on passing federal bans on specific weapons but on expanding the background check system for gun buyers.

Have you considered setting up a Go Explore Me website?
Sadly, Elon Musk is thinking of running for President too. Here’s hoping he does a Bloomberg and not a Schultz.
Good for him and guns. It should be a no-brainer, a really low bar to cross. But great that he has the mightiness to do it. Is he really more sensible than, say, Warren on guns? Or Bernie? Or…?
Anyway, with regard to the economy and related matters, which is the area many people would think he has good instinct and knowledge:
(1): In N.H., Bloomberg compares Warren’s ‘ultra millionaire tax’ with chaos in Venezuela
(2): Bloomberg declared that Kamala Harris’s suggestion, extending Medicare to everyone, would “bankrupt us for a very long time.” Which is stupid.
(3) He was an ignoramus regarding the causes of the last economic crisis, years into it.
Rich man’s bubble. Incorrigibly ignorant.
