Discussion: Mich. Dem: GOP Urged Voters To Complain About O-Care To My Sick Mom

What’s slightly odd is that Fisher is running for a Michigan House seat, not a Congressional House seat, consequently, he has no vote with respect to the ACA law, so why would the GOP send out this silly mailer? By the way, Fisher is being opposed by Republican Brandt Iden and Libertarian Michael Stampfler.

Agreed. I’m sure he has a telephone number for his campaign; you could consider that legitimate to use, so long as you’re not just trying to generate enough calls to it that the campaign cannot use it for other business.

But to use a private number for something like that seems to me to clearly indicate an intent to harass.

Ironic, too, to complain about women having to wait longer for important treatments when the GOP is all about making it harder to get access to women’s health clinics if those clinics provide abortions, and making women seeking abortions have to wait longer and longer to obtain them.

That’s the 'pubes for ya–harassing the elderly and dying.

No. Can you read, or do you just look at the pictures?

You don’t have to be an asshole to be a Republican, but, damn, they sure aren’t taking advantage of that loophole.

Also, very confusing to see Jon Fischer tweet about John Fisher.

Assholes! I am tired of this shit!

Another fine example of the ‘krass’ act that the GOP has evolved into.

You have just verbalized the sentiments of those not watching FUX.

This theme runs throughout the Comments. How low the Pubs have dragged us down? Do they realize how low they go? Do they realize that we conside them lower than pond scum? Everyone is outraged. And the frustration that the public doesn’t react to this.
It like, just being angry isn’t enough.

Now THAT’S snark!

Perhaps the assholes who put the mailer together don’t know the meaning of the word “hospice”. It’s not like any of them would have any personal knowledge of compassion and caring for their elderly and very ill mother.

There is anger. The Corporate media will focus on other things. For example, when the ACA came out, the Corporate Media focused on junk policies which the ACA could replace, as opposed to the absolute CRIME of people not having health care (which is what the ACA was designed to remedy).

The Republicans are very fond of their mother’s in nursing homes. And they make sure that they vote by abentee ballot. No matter how brain dead she is, she will vote. And I’m sure that mine isn’t the only state this occurs in.

Terri Schiavo’s support came from across the political and organizational spectrum. The circumstances of her incapacitation and death do not deserve snark for laughs.

“Two weeks ago, the State Department announced that Elizabeth Cheney, the vice president’s daughter, would become a deputy assistant secretary of state.”

THAT is nepotism.

A love a concern troll with a rewriting history knack!

What was kind of scary were the commenters on the local paper, which included some kind of horrified people, and then a whole long bunch of GOP apologists 1) blaming the man for having his mother’s phone in his name rather than in hers, though he’s the one who got the phone and pays for it, and it’s just easier this way, 2) blamed him for not making it unlisted, and 3) blamed him for saying anything about it-- “making this political”.

Not one of them said even “oops!” No “have to be more careful” or “sorry, didn’t mean to do that.” Just “Well, you are the bad one, because you failed to fully protect your mother from our nastiness!”

Yes, my mother, who cannot drive and is a locked ward because she wanders off in the middle of the night, still votes… however Fox News tells her to.

disgusting.
