Discussion: Mexico Will Deport Those Who Try To 'Violently' Enter US After US Shoots Tear Gas

Too bad they are bowing to donnie. He’ll brag about this.

“We ran, but when you run the gas asphyxiates you more,” Zuniga told the AP while cradling her 3-year-old daughter Valery in her arms.

“And meanwhile, Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen said in a statement that maybe now the President will let her keep her job.”

I am sure they’re all trying to get to Mississippi before the polls close tomorrow.

Hmm. Maybe Mexico will pay for the wall after all.

Brag you say??
Just read on Fox that trump wants the “caravan” members deported to their home countries or he will “close the border *permanently”.
No shit

So, now apparently - illegal immigration in the United States is Mexico’s problem.

I’m sure the incoming President of Mexico is delighted with this turn of events.

I notice that nobody in the Trump administration is talking about conditions in the native lands of these asylum seekers. If you want to end “assault” on the border, give people hope in their home countries. Of course, doing that would require America change it’s drug and agricultural policies and that it demand more out of the leaders of our Central American neighbors.

Get Oliver North on the case, he was such a big help in Central America under St. Ronnie.s/

Actually I think it’s a good response from Mexico. U.S. is behaving badly, but it’s also an opportunity for Mexico to be a good partner. In the past, U.S. and Mexico co-operated very effectively on areas of mutual concern.

I too sympathize with the caravan members and our obligation is to process their asylum claims, not harm them, but it’s also the case that working collaboratively with Mexico is far better than allowing hostilities to develop between us. Integrity of our mutual border is one of the ways that U.S. and Mexico should collaborate.

trump’s brilliant response to the problems in Central America that make people flee 2000 miles to imagined safety? Cut all aid to Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala. That’ll fix the problem I tells ya!!

Expecting a reasoned response from trump is like expecting water to be dry.

I didn’t say I expect a reasoned response from Spanky. Why do you feel this compulsion to misrepresent my comment?

My pardon please.

From Aljazzeer: Honduran activists welcome Trump’s threats to cut US aid

I’m no expert in this area but from what I’ve read, the problems in Honduras are caused – in large part at least – by U.S. “aid”, aid that propped up illiberal governance.

Cooperation at the border is not new. U.S. and Mexico have been cooperating on cross-border issues for decades. Water quality of international waterways, habitat protection, facilitating hundreds of billions each year in cross-border trade, and extending US FDA inspections into Mexico as part of NAFTA – these are just a few of the areas our two countries have cooperated on border-related issues.

Our two countries have also been discussing how to better cooperate on border security for decades. Full agreement has been elusive and progress slow, but it’s not a new thing that came up only after Spanky was elected.

well, i’ve been wondering who is promoting/ aiding, this trek…who/what is Pueblo Sin Fronteras???

It is such a ludicrous supposition that governments are pushing their most-unwanted citizens into caravans and sending them to our border.

But it’s one Trump has framed this way time and again. How many times has he said that “Mexico” sends its worst to our country? As if it’s some kind of conspiracy at the highest levels to “dump” their least savory characters on us?

Ludicrous!!!

And who is stepping up to contain this dangerous and dishonest rhetoric? To hold him in any way accountable? No–one!

He’s the president FFS, he must be held to a least a minimum standard.

And no, we don’t wait until we’re forced to say he’s exceeded anything Nixon (or Hitler) would do, because by then it’s too damned late!

Trump is bad enough. His sycophantic enablers in Congress and beyond are just as bad. Worse, because they stand by and do nothing.

well, i’m replying to my own question…PUEBLO sin Fronteras is a group that organizes ‘caravans’ to the US southern border…so, these migrants are not necessarily poor, abused individuals…the organizers have an agenda…which is to demand entry into the US…Its great what one can learn with a little research

Ain’t you heard of dry steam?

Pueblo Sin Fronteras is literally People Without Borders. That pretty well summarizes their approach and intent. They do organize and support the caravans, but they explicitly identify with displaced persons. Like so much else about this immigration ‘crisis’, our government’s actions are both a direct cause and an exacerbating factor, and PFS recognizes this fact.
