Will be interesting what comes next. Mexico gets kicked out of NAFTA, or leaves on its own. Canada leaves too if El Trumpo makes demands on them. Mexico + Canada become best trading buddies. U. S. is SOL. Sorry for you Ford, GM, et al. Your factories in Mexico may as well be written off. Sorry for U. S. consumers too who now have to buy shoddy products made in the U. S. by deplorables in Wisconsin, Michigan, etc.
At 8:51 a.m. EST this morning Trump tweeted out that he was considering cancelling the meeting.
But at 5:08 p.m. IST (6:38 a.m. EST) the Times of India reported that the Mexican president was mulling cancelling the meeting. Mexican President mulls cancelling Trump meeting
So Trump only tweeted out his possible cancellation almost four hours after it was reported the Mexican president was doing to.
But both stories in TPM today imply that Trump made the initial statement. Like Han Solo, Pena Nieto shot first.
The entire State Department resigns in contempt of Trump’s dubious legitimacy, then the duly elected President of Mexico refuses to meet the Orange Pretender posing in his President costume…
Are we seeing the marginalization of Trump?

I have been staying in a small city in central Mexico for about a month. The local people know that Trump is out to screw themselves but they hold no ill will toward Americans. Their President is not very popular for several unrelated reasons but if he were to give in to Little Donnie Trump on paying for his wall Mexicans would rise up and throw their President out. Knowing this yesterday he indicated that he was likely to cancel the meeting with Little Donnie.
Little Donnie will develope some alternative facts to claim both that it was his idea to cancel the meeting and that Mexico is in fact paying for his silly wall. Both claims will be, as most of his claims simple lies.
