Discussion: Megyn Kelly Reveals She Complained To Fox News Top Brass About O'Reilly (VIDEO)
So where are the headlines blaring that Bill O’Reilly is a “Big problem for the Republican Party”?
Checking Twitter feed for Trump’s big tweet…Nope, not there. This story must not have been reported on Fox & Friends this morning.

Apparently it’s pile-on season. Weinstein, O’Riley, Polansky. Ailes decided it was better to kick the bucket.

No doubt the claims are true, but it’s interesting to note that Megyn Kelly, Gretchen Carlson and the rest waited until the guys were down to speak up. One might think they were waiting for the abuser was no longer in position to retaliate, but it was really that he was no longer in position to advance their careers.

Just for asking Trump if he wouldn’t be a misogynist douche as President because he was always a misogynist douche before? Sheesh, are people touchy.

At least it may help undercut white right-winger men’s belief that those women who speak up are only lubrul highly self-conscious frigid bitchy attention-seeking Democrats paid by Soros… or something like that. So I’m with you, I wouldn’t dismiss Kelly’s comments either. If something may be of whatever help, why not.

We still have a long road ahead. So women established in the entertainment industry speak, women established in the media industry speak. They are in a position where it’s far safer to speak up than unestablished women in the same industries and ordinary women in workforce who are far more vulnerable. And most likely because of that – it seems that for many ordinary Americans that’s something happening in another world distant from them.

Apart from any potential for legal action that opens up at various points along this scandal, the frustrating thing is that it doesn’t seem to matter to the Fox audience. In fact, it’s a badge of honor for them. They’re so brainwashed that all such complaints are viewed as “political correctness,” “leftwing hatchet jobs,” or part of a Holy War in which the Right must always side with the Right, no matter what.

A somewhat parallel situation involves the word “cruel.” When a Democratic politician or talking head calls, say, Trump’s ACA undermining “cruel,” the Republican base hears this as liberal whining. They believe that if Trump is called “cruel” by panty-wetting liberals, he must be doing something right. Therefore, they are magically inoculated from the guilt of being bad people.

Similarly, if a rightwing figure is being accused of sexual harassment or assault, he must be doing something right, because “liberals” in the media are making up lies about him.

It’s funny (but not in a ha-ha way): Normal people immediately denounce Harvey Weinstein (who’s very tangential to politics to start with) and give his contributions back. But conservatives greet deep, institutionally protected behavior of the same type at the center of their core institutions, and their response is to claim that liberals and the media have a double standard.

But I’m hoping the answer is: There’s no number…

Day late and a dollar (or $32 million) short, Ms. Kelly. Thanks for playing, we have some lovely parting gifts for you.

I still don’t like you.

I have no doubt she was sexually harassed. She seems to have been successful at FOXNEWS.

I also have no doubt that Harvey Weinstein actually gave some women three picture deals for going along.

I’m leaving it to you to connect the dots here.

Why is it important that we hear what Megyn Kelly has to say? On just about any topic imaginable, including the sleazeball O’Reilly?

I complained about the lying little jerk’s behavior too.

I find a lot of these responses pretty awful. You might not agree with Megyn Kelly’s politics and may not like her very much, but that is really irrelevant here. You’re doing exactly what you complain right wing trolls do. You’re attacking the victim / whistleblower.

And, to make comments that you should “expect” this sort of behavior at a place like Fox also is ridiculous. It’s political garbage there, but that doesn’t mean that women trying to make a living there should “expect” bad behavior.

It won’t. Kelly had her credibility with that side of the tracks completely ruined by Trump, and then by leaving Fox with a parting comment against Ailes.

And her show is so abysmal that she has done nothing to gain credibility with people on this side of the tracks. (something about kicking it off by giving Alex Jones a platform to babble about pig/man hybrids taking over the world turns people off).

If her show(s) ( since I think she has sworn off political interviews/commentary and is now struggling to do celebrity fluff pieces) had any traction, then maybe. But since they don’t this just comes across as a pitiful attempt to garner some much needed attention.

If she banged on the drum every single day, going after O’Reilly the way O’Reilly went after Jesse Jackson, then sure, I’d be impressed, maybe even send supportive emails to her sponsors.
For this, yeah, I guess it’s something.

Meanwhile, Brillo continues to play the “victim” card.
Cuz when creepy guys are unable to use their wealth, social status, and corporate influence to sexually assault or harass women without repercussion, then the terrorists have won.

Well, you know what Rick Wilson says.
