Discussion for article #239242
Did someone give her a book on journalism, or is this simply a case of a broken clock being right twice a day?
so when do we get to ask kelly about her views concerning women and race? isnt that only fair?
“I didn’t attack Trump. I assassinated him on live TV!”
I have difficulty sympathizing with GOP candidates. They have to espouse policies most likely to satisfy the wants of a rabid dog. Justifying that policy needs tailored to the desire of a pack of sick, deranged, foaming at the mouth knuckledraggers must be a tough assignment.
"If you can’t get past me, how are you going to handle Vladimir Putin?" she asked.
But Putin isn’t a pretty blonde, and we all know how well these GOP studs do with the ladies…
I have always had problems with Megyn’s type of question… the type that take a minute or two to ask when only one minute is allotted for the answer. That is setting the person up for a fail because no matter how they answer they will be accused of missing the key question. Questions such as this are for the aggrandizement of the questioner only. Like in a business setting, why does it take a 20 page report written over a couple of hours to explain a fix that took less than 10 minutes.
Megyn is a Fox T&A putz; bought and paid for to spew Rupert’s agenda. Bias is fundamental to her performance. As many others have pointed out, the joke was having Fox host the debate.
All of the questions were tailored to the Murdoch/Republican mindset. The debate failed to mention any issues that matter to the success or even survival of the human race.
I’d rather be stuck in an elevator with Putin than Andrea Tantaros. Or Ann Coulter. Or Lauran Ingraham. Or Monica Crowley. Or Michelle Malkin. Or Liz Cheney. When you think about it conservative women in prominent media positions are some of the nastiest pieces of work on the planet.
“If you can’t get past me, how are you going to handle Vladimir Putin?” she asked.
Did she wear a veil for the interview?
These vagabond shoes
Are longing to stray
Right through the very heart of it
In old Vladimir…
She actually is right this time. (Can’t believe I wrote that…). The point of a debate is to see how the candidate handles themselves. Megyn Kelly is hardly the worst Trump would face as President. Trump is displaying his ultra thin skin for all to see. Anyone with a working brain can see his lack of maturity. Even this morning CNN has a story in which Trump whines that Megyn owes him an apology for his perceived blood letting at that debate. The questions she asked were nothing compared to the crap Obama has endured (with a ton of grace) from the minions of the right.
This pretty much sums it up:
She actually asked a reasonable question , but Trump being Trump and a bully where women are concerned , dessimated her .
When she runs for public office. Until then, her views are not our concern unless she voices them herself.
Considering the field size and composition I think the Fox Spectacular did a decent job in introducing these candidates to the Country at large.
Trump is renowned for being thin-skinned and vindictive, so it’s no surprise that he is milking his “victimhood” for all he can.
On the other hand, Megyn likely had an agenda of her own – legitimate, but still an agenda.
FOX News has its own cadre of political analysts who specialize in crunching the numbers, and they are well aware that Trump is not a viable candidate for the general election – his “unfavorable” rating, even within the GOP electorate, is HUUUGE (to use a Trumpism).
Since Ailes and company are functionally the equivalent of the RNC’s PR department, they have a vested interest in exposing every one of Donald’s numerous character flaws.
She really didn’t attack Trump. He set her up and she let him have it. What she did do was expose the tender underbelly of Rodger and Rupert’s creation and a deep flaw in the GOP plan. Trump is there because FOX created the landscape for him to ride in on. The trailer park vote was the GOP’s for forever and for a long time they were content to just take those votes and forget about who cast them. But someone, ( Beck…etc ) …decided to empower that trailer park vote, to give it a veto over GOP mainstream types and for some reason Rodger went along. Voila Tea Party.
Now you have Trump…the more vulgar the more loved by that trailer park crowd ( which is a substantial number of folks ) . FOX and the GOP went for a first round knock out and gave Kelly the task. She did well but what we saw was Trump’s invincibility win out. This morning Frank Luntz was all in a tizzy about this…yakking away at how Ted Cruz or Rand Paul should take Trump out. Sure!
They fucked up. If they want Trump out ( and they really do ) their going to have to find a way not to bruise his ego or scratch his thin skin. That leaves very few options. Otherwise…Trump goes indie and the who show is fucked.
Kelly’s a bit too smart to try that. She was given the role of a “mechanic”, an assassin that arranges killings to look like accidents. Her job was to take Trump down and get rid of him. It’s what Rupert wants. It’s what Rodger wants. And it’s definitely what the makers and bakers of the GOP want. As long as Trump’s around all eyes are on him and he’s the face of the GOP.
I think the folks at FOX learned something though. If they thought Trump would be in a bind if trapped between a woman and women’s issues they were wrong. He could call them all the “C” word and gain 5 points. Mary Shelly wrote a book about shit like this.
No. She was given a mission. To pull Trump down by appealing to folk’s sense of decency. A sense FOX has been conditioning against for a very long time. She had no chance at success.
all her questions to rubio were softballs
