Discussion: Meadows: Trump Siding With Democrats Was A ‘One Off,’ Not A ‘Trend’

It is good to know that the GOP angst over this episode pales in comparison to their concern over a foreign predator involved in our elections. Whew. Priorities straight again.

In reality, Meadows doesn’t have a damn idea what Trump will do next, because Trump himself doesn’t know.

Secondly, it’s very interesting to see the Freedom Caucus eat crow. I don’t know that I’ve seen that before. Usually they just rant and rave, flailing helplessly, when they don’t get their way.

I guess Meadows doesn’t want to be Trump’s next McConnell.

Never ever ‘think’ that Mark Meadows is conciliatory or reasonable. He is a rabble rousing Con that would screw anyone over to get what HE wants…anyone.

Oh, honey, don’t you worry your pretty little head now. This is going to happen again and again. What PP does best is divide and conquer, or divide and divide. It’s how he ran the Apprentice, and it’s how he operates the WH. Every failure in Congress will result in PP siding with the Democrats as punishment because he has no ideology, no principles, or morals. And now that he’s gotten all this positive feedback and praise in the media, he’ll do it again and again.

Cue The Monkees and Daydream Believer.

@pluckyinky When the right has sold its soul for 10 cents on the dollar in the hope of establishing a new, killer order subjugating anyone who’s not white and doing nothing but building war machines, it’s tough to come to grips with the fact of a clueless idiot at the helm who wants to be loved and doesn’t recognize being played by two Democratic Zen masters. .

trumpp has no idea the little lady from San Francisco does politics so masterfully. She’s a woman, ergo, she’s irrelevant. She delivered ACA to the country with not one R vote and got most of President Obama’s agenda through. Think trumpp knew that? Does he even know how rich she is and not because of scamming banks and not repaying loans to foreign governments?

We’ve all seen the obsequious “Dear Leader” videos where e.g. each cabinet member tries to one-up the next praising The Orange One. Trump certainly gets off on that kind of thing.

But, you can’t really “make a deal” with your own company, with your own people. You can only threaten and fire them. Trump needs to have someone across the table that is, if not on his own level (ha!) at least a worthy opponent. Mexico and China et alia really haven’t worked out in that department. McConnell and the Republican Congress really hasn’t worked out, in part because all in all the GOP is part of the organization (Yertle’s protests to the contrary) not someone to make a deal with.

If Trump was having success “re-negotiating” deals with various foreign parties he’d be all for a unified government/monarchy domestically. But he not, so the Democrats get to fill that role.

Chuck and Nancy know how to play this game.

I was sure that once the descriptions of Trump “getting rolled” by the Dems got out there, he would recoil and cut off Chuck and Nancy immediately. Does he not believe the reports that he was played? Does he not see them because what he reads and watches is so limited? Is he that furious at Ryan and McConnell that he’ll do anything to punish them and get some kind of win? It is delicious, but also a bit perplexing to me. . . . .

Bingo.

I mean, who is going to invoke his wrath by showing him he’s a failed laughingstock in the very kind of deal-making that he purports to be the core of his existence? Fox and Friends? His staff? Ha.

I think they just know how to talk to him.

I hope that Irma doesn’t devastate NC or any other states, but if it does hit NC, I cannot wait to see how fast FreeDUMB Caucus Boy Meadows flushes his conservative, anti-government-spending principles down the Koehler porcelain wok so he can get his state’s hands on a shitload of dirty gubmint cash.
I want to hear the excuses for that. It will be hypocrisy for the ages.

Yes, Mr. Meadows, who would ever think a female representative from California and a senator from New York, two elected officials from two of the most populous and powerful states in the nation, who have both been in their respective offices for years and years, would know how to play the game of D.C. politics?
Why don’t you ask your fellow Freedom Caucus geniuses like Louis Gohmert, Trent Franks, or Ted Yoho for an answer to that question? I think they’re in the corner somewhere trying to figure out ways to fuck over the victims of Hurricane Irma.

Dear Congressman Meadows; please pull out a dictionary and look up the word “compromise.” I know it’s not in your present vocabulary, but you better get used to it. 2018 can’t come fast enough…throw the rascals out!

It’s adorable that he doesn’t realize everything with DT is a one-off.

ETA: By the way, you can show some love for a Meadows challenger here.
