Bolton would never get us into a nuclear war with someone who could meaningfully retaliate. No, all Bolton gets us is the ignominy of living in a country that incinerated millions with nuclear weapons in a country with no, or limited, capacity to retaliate.

The difficulty is that you canât just get a fourth star. Four star is, technically, a temporary rank held by a three star in one of the limited number of four star commands. If you donât either retire or move up to the Joint Chiefs at the end of your four star gig, you revert back to three.
So until one of those opens up, heâs stuck.

Woo boy. You should have heard Steve Schmidt this afternoon talking about Trump and all this flying crap. He basically said if Kelly, Mattis and McMaster leave the White House, run for the hills! He sliced and diced Trump for his absolute unfitness for the job. He brought up Palin as well and said she didnât have the smarts or the temperament for the job either. Trying to imagine her as POTUS and her family in the White House if anything had happened to McCain had they won. My effing god. She and Trump are two peas in a pod, although she doesnât have his narcissistic personality disorder. But Trumpâs antics are just jaw-dropping and scary as the republicans burrow deeper into their holes.
Speaking of threats, I wonder what he gets from the deplorables after comments like this.

It would seem that Vanessa Trump has hired a criminal defense attorney to handle her divorce.
The gossip media consensus is that this is a sign that she anticipates her divorce getting ugly. Which makes no goddamn sense at all because there are thousands of family law litigation specialists who make a particular specialty of handling ugly divorces.
No, Occamâs Razor says that Vanessa is hiring a criminal defense attorney because, for some reason, she anticipates needing a criminal defense attorney.

Nice to see them both taking their atonement seriously, donât get me wrong. But they both have a ways to go.

It would still be horrible. I mean, can you imagine trying to travel in Europe after that? Youâd be having a drink in a cafĂ© and somebody sitting next to you realizes youâre from the States and theyâd be on about nuclear this and criminal that and youâd never have a momentâs peace.

I assume he slid by with gentlemanâs Cs like Dubya but itâs hard to believe you could go through Yale or Penn without doing some reading. When he was 40 he could speak in multi-clause sentences and sounded like an educated lout. I suppose that was possible because of a certain level of exposure to supraloutal language use.

Some of the Warts were challenged. I hear that he was a mediocre student but havenât heard that he was at the bottom of that barrel. I graduated from Penn a year ahead and from a different College, Arts and Sciences. It was widely understood that A and S students were often more talented than most of the Warts.
