McConnell: “Well, I’m not up for election this year, so my thoughts are all over the place–distance yourself from Trump, embrace him, fear him. Who knows? But we do know that Trump has not changed the Republican party; we have always been abhorrent.”

What a nice man, inviting all his friends to be in a train wreck.

That train is a Penn Central, though. Headed straight to bankruptcy.

What he is helping us do is reach out to voters that have not lately voted for Republicans, and I think that could make him very competitive in November.

If that’s the case, what’s the actual gain? It’s pretty much been proven that Rump isn’t bringing in more people to the Rethug Party just those who’ve been on the sidelines for a few cycles.

And who’s been on the sidelines? White nationalists. More of them and less of the fading moderates. That’s not “competitive”. Brilliant move,

Where were the trains, Caitlin? You said McConnell would talk about trains. With whistles and smoke stacks and blasting spurts of steam. All he talked about was Trump. I was conned.

“I don’t think Donald Trump is going to change the Republican Party in any fundamental way.”

Almost correct–I am hoping that the DNC will have brains enough (cough*cough) to show the average citizen just how joined at the hip Trump and the GOP actually are, and in doing so, highlight the fear, ignorance and hatred that the Republican party has morphed into.

I'm going to assume disaffected whites, racists, anti-union, anti-intellectuals, Bible thumpers, One World Order conspiracy nuts, xenophobes, homophobes, anti-immigrants, misogynists, 2nd Amendment fetishists, home schoolers, anti-environmentalists, high school drop-outs and a few others have voted predominantly Republican for many years. Boarding the Trump train would not signify a gain of any new constituencies with their votes. Blacks, the LGBT community, Hispanics, non-Christians, teachers, academia and others not typically loyal to the Republican ticket currently poll at historic low levels of support for Trump. WTF is McConnell talking about?

Sessions. Now McConnell. All exhorting their fellow curs to join their thundering herd of yappy little GOP foo-foo dogs to come to heel and follow their Trumpian master into the dog shelter of doom.

Oh, and for those of you as dissapointed as I am. Here are some more trains
