Discussion: McConnell: This Election Is A Choice Between The Lesser Of Two Evils

So is Trump the “Mini-me” of evil?
Are the short fingers poking out of an over-sized body suit?

(Damn, I hate auto-correct – really can alter the meaning of the simplest of phrases.)

McConnell was asked what he would say to voters who consider the 2016 election a race between the “lesser of two evils.”

“Well, it just is,” McConnell said. “That’s an honest answer. This is a choice that many Americans are not happy with. But it is the choice.”

For me, Senator McConnell, and millions more like me, the lesser of two evils is pretty much always going to be the one who isn’t hilariously racist, sexist, xenophobic and cruel. Even though by no fucking measure can Clinton be considered evil by any semi sober human being, even if some measure you consider her to be so, she’s not racist and Trump is. That makes her by default the lesser of “two” evils.

Disagree totally. There is one “Evil” choice and that is the leader of his party, Donald Trump. The Dem nominee will actually know what she is doing and get things done.

…why vote for a republicon lite when ya can vote for the real thing…I hope the dems learned a big ole lesson from them doing just that in 2012 and 2014

The important thing here is that Mitch does admit that Herr dRumpf is an evil choice. Which is a first for a GOP Senate Majority leader to flatly state that his presumptive nominee is evil.

There’s nothing like the smell of abject GOP failure in the morning. It smells like…victory.

She has a brick in her handbag??? I knew about the hot sauce, but a brick?

PS. Being from Southern California where real Sriracha is made, I refuse to call that Whole Foods stuff she carries “Sriracha” in spite of the lack of trademark. Her obviously poor taste in hot sauce (no matter how good the Whole Foods stuff may or may not be) may make her a bit evil after all.

Smells like napalm to me. Oh, that’s the GOPers burning themselves to ashes. Victory, yes.

O.T., but I wonder when Mitch will introduce a bill to honor his state’s recently departed shining son, Muhammad Ali? I bet he’ll spearhead the effort to have an enormous bronze statue of Ali dedicated in Louisville, right?

Already in the works. It will happen the day after the Legislature changes the official state bird from the cardinal to the Kentucky Flying Pig.

The Repubs are so delusional, they would vote for someone like Hitler than a Democrat. They do everything in their power to undermine a Democratic president to try and prove a country run by Democrats is a failure. They are puritanical lowlifes who falsley wrap themselves in the American Flag.

This is Major Mitch to Ground Control
I’m feeling very still
And I think my party knows which way to go…

One of the main tools: the MSM saying “both have negatives”. Without going into specifics. It would be very simple to go into the specifics.

I don’t know a lot about Bernie, except for the “socialist” thing. Has Bernie always been this full of himself? This heedless? This petulant? Can we count on him to call on his supporters to, if not embrace Hillary, vote for her so that Trump won’t win, for cryin’ out loud? Otherwise he’s just a garden-variety jerk.

I look forward to hearing from the convention floor: “The great state of Kentucky… casts all its nomination votes for…the next president of the United states…the lesser evil!”

Considering Kentucky keeps giving us Senator McConnell, I assumed their state bird with the middle finger

  1. It’s become painfully evident that, yes, he’s been very full of himself pretty much his whole life.

  2. No, which means a lot more hard work on our part – but we can do it. Any reasoning, thinking person who is willing to listen to us and hear us out will come to the conclusion that Hillary is the only way to go, how important it is we keep the White House, win back the Senate (SCOTUS, anyone?) and take back as many House seats as possible. The others–and, unfortunately, there is a small but not insignificant number of them–were probably never going to vote for Bernie in the General, anyway. I find it really amazing how dumb he is not realizing how many of his “supporters” aren’t really liberals and/or progressives. They were using him, plain and simple.

My, what a enthusiastic endorsement!

Actually the Leader is once again wrong, thus maintaining a perfect record.

The race is between an individual who does not possess a single traibeyond citizenship and age that would qualify him to be President, Trump and one of the most experienced public office holders to run for the Presidency in many years.

This should be the first qualification looked at. After that an examination of public policy positions can lead to honest disagreement on who to vote for but not qualifying on the experience / Presidential temproment scale is the first consideration.

Lesser of two evils, indeed.

The difference is, only the GOP consider both candidates to be an evil choice. On my side of the isle, we don’t have the issue the GOP faces where they consider their own candidate evil. I’m pretty happy with Clinton as the Democratic nominee…
