The scary thing is that they’ll always go one step further than Democrats. Every time Democrats try to be the adults in the room, the GOP uses it against them.

" … no sentiment …" until there is to grab some other thing they really want or to stick it to the Ds. When the Ds retake the Senate, they need to stick it to the Rs so hard they have no choice to behave, and make them a permanent minority as they are currently constituted.

This was his plan all along.

An incredibly ugly being on the planet. What the fuck, that nauseating photo. I want to kick him in the face… :rage:

Go ahead, Yertle. Pull the trigger.

And never lecture us about Senate traditions ever again.

Yes, but responsible adults don’t cave to the threats of children. If the Dems. were to capitulate it would only embolden further childish behavior, not foster maturity in the GOP.

“We think the nuclear option is filibustering the Supreme Court nominee, it’s never been done before,” Sen. John Thune (R-SD) said.

Fuck you, Senator Thune.

Just remember the Pottery Barn rule: once you break it, you own it. Enjoy.

Just a general question: how much is McConnell in touch with reality? I’m aware he’s making all these politically motivated b.s. statements about the Supreme Court nomination. What I’m wondering is does he know, underneath, what’s real and what isn’t?

He seems to make reality based choices even if he’s willing to lie through his teeth (more so that Ryan).

Any thoughts?

I’m asking this because I’m wondering what happens next if the Senate Intelligence Committee does it’s job properly, and there are results with severe implications.

What was that famous line:

“Go ahead. Make my day”.

For someone who thinks they’re going to retire to a quiet farm in Kentucky, this guy will be remembered in history for being the worst 'hole of all the 'holes in the bunch.

I don’t think that’s the memory he wants folks to have of him.

Ya know, McConnell’s gonna be one of those GOP assholes who’ll live to be 106 and Kentuckians will still be electing him, even when it’s the carrion beetles causing his carcass to move. SHM.

Mitch has just taken a dump on 240 years of responsible government. I’m sure he’s proud of himself.

He is so punchable; second only to Ted Cruz for Most Punchable Face in Congress.

He does have a certain ageless quality I have to admit. It’s impossible to tell by looking how old he is - and he never seems to change.
