Discussion: McConnell Promises Kavanaugh Vote 'In The Near Future,' Dismisses 'Smear Campaign'

Overwhelmingly, the truth, not a ‘smear’.

Is he playing chicken (as it appears he and Grassley were doing with Ford) or does he have some indication that Flake and Collins will vote to confirm?

I see Flake and Murkowski as the most likely to vote no, both are being mum.

The feeble Turtle once again throwing himself a pity party because he wants to feel like the big strong man he’ll never be.

If a quick up-or-down vote was good enough for Merrick Garland, it’s good enough for … oh, wait, what?

They don’t care. If nothing else has been clear since before Merrick Garland, as long as the GOP achieves their aims, they simply don’t care what else happens or how bad they look to people outside their base. Their (not so) secret weapon is their complete lack of shame.

Again, McConnell is throwing out the red meat for their gullible constituents, making themselves out as victims to a vast monolithic liberal monster.

Nope, the news of the day just went against them. Kavanaugh apparently has assaulted multiple women or girls, and the GOP politicians do not care.

The propaganda can only work because they got an echo chamber.

Oh you self righteous bitch. People - this is just more of the same.

McConnell is a master at delivering hypocritical, phony indignation. He managed to say that the Democrats are the ones to blame for Dr. Ford’s stress because they exposed her against her wishes. He talked about delaying an appointment (hello?) and chastised us for not feeling sorry enough for Kavanaugh’s family. I’m out of date on current lingo, but we used to say, “I wanted to hurl.”

Like the same up-and-down vote you gave to Merrick Garland? Fuck you, McConnell.

Oh fuck off, turtle.

(Sorry, but on a day like today, I’m just not feeling it on the civility, maturity, or eloquence fronts.)

What is truly shameful and shameless is Yertle the Turtle trying to shove through this nomination absent a thorough vetting. Even more shameful and shameless is his absolute refusal to allow any consideration of President Obama’s legal and responsible nomination of Merrick Garland for the Supreme Court seat usurped by Trump’s Neil Gorsuch appointment.

The Terrapin Turncoat stopped gobbling Satan’s cock long enough to give a blurb? Today IS a big news day.

There has to be kompromat on this flatworm, because otherwise, he’d do far better to cut his losses and tell Trump to shut up and pick the beautiful, beautiful lady from the federalist-list.

IOW, McConnell is a liar and a scoundrel. Guess Kentucky likes that in their menfolk.

Agreed, but I think this is too kind.

Mitch: The vote will happen in the near future. As soon as I can round up at least 50 of them.

On Dailykos, Joan McCarter says that this is all for an audience of one, presumably Dr. Blasey Ford. I think she is wrong. This is meant not only to intimidate Dr. Blasey Ford but also anyone else who might be thinking of coming forward, for this or any other nomination.

Well, Mitch … sometimes the truth smears all over the guilty. And the more people telling the truth, the messier it gets.

Adding “…It’s all a tissue of lies. Or it could have been a case of mistaken identity. And really, all we’re talking about is the kind of rough horseplay every American high school student engages in. And it’s shameful that people are making it out to be more than it was. Not that it was. A thing, I mean. -Hey, let’s vote!”

Were I gonna choose a hill upon which to make my stand, I really don’t think rape would be the prime choice. But hey, they’re your midterm elections to lose, not mine.
