Because President Trump knows the GOP in the Senate will dance to whatever tune he calls. He doesn’t need to court or consult McConnell. Despite having a majority, Mitch has no control over his own party if he disagrees with the President.

Bland, controlled, non-committal, (assumed to be) safe, capable of shifting talking points on a dime…the complete package for destroying democracy by using loopholes, assumed norms and racism.
McConnell is far more the star of the Russian Rodeo than is emphasized. If this emphasis was applied, McConnell’s blandness would have more of an edge to it.

I wasn’t at the Army Navy game last week in Philly but friends who were there said at a local bar that night, when Trump walked out on the field the cadets and midshipmen cheered wildly.
The majority of Americans couldn’t give a shit about the wall. If the Donald indeed vetos a spending bill that does not include more funding for the wall, the Donald owns the government shut down. Merry fucking Christmas to anyone in any of those federal agencies that has to close.
Because he wants to be president and he thinks his time may be coming near. Needs his face out there for the public to see.
Ironically, most of the people along the border don’t want it. They don’t want it at all in Texas. The wall turned the whole border blue.
