Discussion: McConnell Doesn't Get Why Jon Stewart's 'All Bent Out Of Shape' Over 9/11 Benefits

Yes, it will be taken care off. Question is why the funding needs to be renewed and is not permanent. Then another question is why funding has always been renewed at 5 minutes to midnight. That rest squarely on Turtles shoulders.

David Byrne and Trump patronize the same tailor.

His strategy is to take all the big morsels off the plate first.

Classic b.s. game to ensure that they can get the CBO to not call bullshit on their eternal push for tax-cuts.

When they have sunset provisions, the CBO doesn’t count any costs after the sunset year.

Thus, even if you know that you’re going to extend something for eternity, keeping future obligations down allows you to argue that you can cut taxes now.

"At one point, he mentioned a “certain someone” in the Senate who kept using the fund as a “political football.”

Though it’s still dangerous to do, I miss the days when folks basically @ someone and whatever happened, happened.

And “Hot Tub” Tom DeLay, the man who once told Capitol Police “I am the federal government!”

In case you don’t remember … DeLay and some of his Grifter Gangsters were smoking cigars on the steps of the Capitol when a Capitol cop informed them smoking was prohibited by federal law. Tom, of course, responded in his typically humble way.

Also, never forget that it was “Hot Tub” Tom who took Newt’s redistricting/gerrymandering ploy and put it on steroids. Soon after state congressional districts started resembling Rorschach tests on acid.

Was a smart move, I thought. Helped to avoid having the Fox News crowd jump all over him as being “partisan”, which they would have had he mentioned McTurtle by name.

Denying them that sound clip, while everyone watching heard that name floating over it, much smoother.

Welp, in my estimation after about 1868 the GOP went down hill. But before selling their souls to conservatism well after 1868 they did give us the 13th (1865) and 14th (1868) amendments to the Constitution. I am grateful that was done.

Because you’re untrustworthy. You’re a liar. But mainly because most fire fighters aren’t millionaires.

They don’t have “jobs” where they can refuse to respond to an alarm in order to make the boss a one-term Chief. They can’t afford their chemo, much less pack the family off on a trip to China.

Selfish, elitist snob.

It used to be, in the 1850’s thru to the 1870’s, that the GOP was the party of the progressives and the democrats were the conservitives. Gradually the landscape flipped . Odd how that happens. But then politics rarely follows rules of logic.

No, she doesn’t. She couldn’t lay a glove on Andy Barr even with the vote out of Lex. And Mcconnell has never been popular. He’d typically one of the senators with the lowest approval rating. I’m crossing all appendages that Matt Jones will run against him because he will win. Handily.

“Nevertheless, Jon Stewart persisted.”

Oh, I’m quite well aware of that. Amused when GOPers occasionally throw out that they’re the Party of Lincoln to buttress their positions, totally misreading history either through ignorance or a deliberate move to throw people off.

Some of us New Yorkers who have friends and family members impacted by 9/11 health concerns “don’t get why” McConnell has advocated for Black lung disease benefits but we somehow tolerate it because of the public good and we’re decent human beings.

Tom DeLay should get dishonorable mention.

I cannot surpass anything said above…but what Turtle did was inadvertent and revealing…and something this profoundly EVIL man cannot take back

The sociopathic among us many times make it to the finish line and live their entire lives without people aware of the emptiness of their souls.

This is McConnell’s LATEST and it is particularly interesting, in view of the “working man” schtick championed by the GOP
