At this point all I can hope for is karma. And that the Democrats in Congress remember this and serve it right back to Republicans once they are in the Majority. None of this “when they go low we go high” bullshit, nor do I want to hear from any progressives/liberals or Democrats how we need to play fair…I’m not here for any more of that. The gloves need to go off and stay off.

Someone correct me here if i’m off base with this presumption, but wouldn’t McConnell be better served to allow T rumpp to fill his vacancies through recess appointments, rather than fight a losing battle with Dems in session?

The brutal truth of the matter is that McConnell is much smarter, tougher, more creative, and more effective than anyone on the Democratic side. I can’t remember the last time Schumer (or Pelosi) won a significant procedural battle. In this case, I find it hard to accept that nothing can be done to slow things down or at least attach some kind of political cost to this kind of procedural extremism. As for the potential silver lining mentioned in some comments here–that this will maybe preclude recess appointments–that seems a tad optimistic. McConnell will find a way to declare whatever short recess may be required for that purpose.
