It’s debt you and your cronies created with your tax cuts for the rich.

Fuck off.

Obvious solution: raise the taxes on the rich, the 1% in heritance class, and the giant US monopolies.

Cut spending…on the military!

Like Social Security?
Like Medicare?
Like Medicaid?
Like Food Stamps?
Like the EPA?

Which one disturbs you, Yertle?

Or is it “all of the above”?

I know how to solve the “disturbing” debt:

Cut Republicans out of government!

“Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) called on Congress to rein in major government programs like Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security…”

The GOP wants to attack Social Security and Medicare in the month before an election?

Bring it!

One word: Bluenami.

(ETA - Note to Mr. Joseph: It’s not “reining in” these programs; it’s “cutting” them. Words matter.)

Entitlement programs, so that’s the problem. Maybe you shouldn’t have given that huge tax cut to the entitled rich. What is with these guys not being able to add 2+2?

On the bright side, he is also officially changing the GOP’s name to the Leopards Eating People’s Faces Party.

Hey, maybe if the rich entitlers like Trump and his ilk had to pay a few taxes you wouldn’t have to go after people that rely on these programs. Grrrrrrrrrr!

McConnell isn’t stupid. Why is he saying something that sounds very stupid, both as a campaign-season message and as simple policy? Some would say its because the GOP base is stupid, but… I don’t see how this stupid thing helps with those stupid people.

This seems like a MAJOR blunder right before the mid-terms. UNLESS, this is Mitch’s “cry for help” to get out of a “leadership” position so the Republicans can REALLY play their victim card.

The general cycle seems to be

  • Republicans get in power, cut taxes, increase the deficit, threaten “entitlement” programs, general screw the populace
  • Dems are able to stir up angst and take back Congress
  • Repubs start railing against the deficit and the “tax and spend” Dems
  • Dems make some tough calls on budget items, including some tax increases
  • Repubs cries of “Tax and Spend” sway the election and they are back in power
  • Repeat cycle again

Sigh…

McConnell Calls For Cutting Government Programs To Deal With ‘Disturbing’ Debt

Predictable Things:

  1. The sun rising in the east.

  2. The movement of the tides.

  3. Republicans touting massive cuts in government programs to deal with the even more massive debt that they themselves have created by giving the Treasury away to their rich friends.

This is the Republican two step:

  1. cut taxes for the wealthy and corporations
  2. shriek about deficits, now that they’ve eliminated revenue

It is the oldest goddamn game in the book.

And media reports slavishly play along…

They gave the defense industry of which acounts for 60% of the budget 82 Billion more $$$. They removed 20 trillion in potential economic growth to the 10% that control 80% of the stock market via 1.5 trillion tax break…and they want cut three programs of which account for about 20% of the total budget saying it will reduce the deficit…

These guys are so full of shit and this is 2 santas strategy is oh so predicable going into the 2020 cycle where the GOP will remind people that dems fought against the “gift” of tax cuts, but weak in that they are willing to take away programs for the poor when pressed…

This with the prospect of a failing economy by 2020…

If that “hidden genius” would even pay a dollar of income tax…then maybe we can begin a conversation.
