Discussion: McCain: State-Specific Buy-Offs In Obamacare Repeal 'Unsavory'

This isnā€™t a repeal bill! Itā€™s a ā€œwe gotta get the money some fā€™n place so we can give our donors (bribers) a tax cut!ā€

I still think that McCain is a good man held hostage by the GOP.

Ditto the Rand Paul thread: ā€œIā€™m shocked, shocked to find that gambling is going on in here!ā€

Heā€™s dying of brain cancer. He didnā€™t give a shit until his imminent death put in to perspective what the less privileged rest of us have to deal with on a daily basis. Iā€™m glad he voted the way he did, but every single elected official should have done the same without hesitationā€¦letā€™s see how he votes when it comes to taxes.

Iā€™m not holding my breath.

Rand Paul calls it ā€œunseemly.ā€ John McCain calls it ā€œunsavory.ā€ I call it corrupt and disgusting.

ā€œIt seems the bazaar is open."

And this is different from any other day in Congress how exactly?

McCain is complicated.
He absolutely has a dark side. He can be really nasty.
He also loves the attention heā€™s gotten over the decades when he plays the maverick: Cameras, microphones. And then he can act like a sycophant too when smoozing with tea party wackos.

Trump made a big tactical error one week after he announced his candidacy; remember that tweet? McCain sure does.

The man who inflicted Sarah Palin on us has a lot to answer for. But this is a start.

No heā€™s not a hostage but he needs to call out his party obstructist behavior for the reason that they are in this mess.

No, itā€™s not. He will never be forgiven for the most egregious act of political malpractice in the last 100 years. Ever.

In fact, Iā€™d like to see ā€œThe Man Who Gave Us Sarah Palinā€ etched on his headstone so people never forget.

Iā€™ll bet his first wife would disagree. And sheā€™d be right.

And this tactic surprises anyone because?

Bill Cassidy is just another Tea Party hack, but Lindsey Graham was once considered a ā€œserious person.ā€ With this horrifying parody of legislating, Graham has forfeited any claim to being a responsible member of Congress.

I used to get down on him for picking Palin - but the current Pee-Resident makes Palin look like a freaking Nobel Prize winner by comparison.

I really donā€™t get Graham at all.

Iā€™m guessing thereā€™s not even gonna be a vote.

Palinā€™s candidacy enabled Trumpā€™s. Before her you had to be a serious person to run for national office. After her any damn fool would be acceptable if he or she was good on TV.

My guess is there are 10 or 12 Republican senators who will vote against it if push comes to shove. McConnell knows the exact number.

McConnell knows heā€™s dumpster diving and he also knows that he canā€™t have dignity and do what he does, thus, he has forsaken all dignity.

They want a win, any win, but killing O-care would be a real warm and fuzzy one for them, death panels or no.

And Iā€™m just spitballinā€™ here but making each successive attempt worse and kicking many more millions to the healthcare curb just doesnā€™t seem like the way to gain support.
I am not geared for ā€˜conservativeā€™ thinking-that is clear.

" Despite the divorce, Carol McCain has remained on good terms with John McCain[30] and has supported him in all his subsequent political campaigns.[3] She refused to discuss her marriage with an election opponent of McCainā€™s in 1982 who was seeking negative information about him, telling the opponent that ā€œa gentleman never would have calledā€.[37] She supported his 2008 presidential campaign and told The Mail on Sunday in June 2008 she was not bitter and that, ā€œHeā€™s a good guy. We are still good friends. He is the best man for president.ā€[3] "
