Discussion for article #223256
This will not be the first time Shinseki will have fallen on his sword.
I put the onus for the VA troubles squarely on Congress and their inability to properly fund the VA. The problems at the VA long predate Shinseki. And I firmly believe the agency should be headed by a former military person, not a civilian. Firing Shinseki will not solve anything.
Those two cocksuckers need to resign for voting NO on S1982 to better fund the VA.
Shinseki was a general.
These two clowns don’t even know what’s going on in their home state, so now they’re looking for a scapegoat.
Shinseki told the truth and got shit-canned for it during the Bush Administration.
These two hypocritical yahoos who refused to support veterans now want him to resign? Seriously?
Effing a-holes.
Huh. So let me get this straight:
“Everybody lied to him an hid their malfeasance from him by falsifying the reports so he should resign”??
OK. Fine. Right after Chris Christie tenders his resignation.
“If Secretary Shinseki does not step down voluntarily, then I call on the President of the United States to relieve him of his duties, to fire him.”
Flake and McCain don’t give a damn about this; else they would be looking for ways to SOLVE the problem. Because the truth is if Shinseki is to blame then they share in it too. After all, this happened in their backyard.
No, all this is about is collecting a fucking scalp.
Queue Marco Rubio saying “Me too” in 5…4…3…
Neither of these two assholes are calling for the PHOENIX VA to be completely overhauled rather to put someone’s head on a pike, get someone else in the job and then have the same shit happen all over again. Because, as everyone on this board has already said, they don’t care about veterans at all.
Ding ding ding! Also too? Think the Republicans in the Senate will confirm anyone during an election year? Nah. They want Shinseki’s scalp and they want to use the vacancy to hammer Obama and drive their frothing raging base to vote.
Not only in their backyard, but on their watch in Congress as they voted down VA funding.
This is all the usual grandstanding and harrumphing. Because not a chance that if there was a dogged enough journalist out there, they couldn’t dig up a few letters or emails sent to both of these yahoos about this very problem, dated within the last 18-24 months.
I know this because McCain’s office in Arizona responds to ALL pieces of mail. I was copied myself on a letter from him relating to a file my office was working on in Canada.
So who’s going to go digging? Anyone? Chances are excellent there are several vets on the ground in AZ that may have information to share, if someone in the MSM would bother to ask rather than play stenographer…
He probably also told them to pour in as much money as it takes to fix it too…ha ha ha I crack me up…ass holes
Yep, mccrabb bomb bomb and the flake call for the same BS every time. They better have someone who can lead and they are NOT it… These fools are an attack on the country Opressive and regressive…As if the Senate gop flabs would not leave the seat vacant with their do nothing filibuster…Idiots!
Has Lindsey Graham explained what this has to do with Benghazi(!) yet? Did I miss it?
McCain and Flake should resign for not making sure that the funding the VA needed was in place. So, Senators- you first!
Seems to me that McCain and Flake should resign. This is the AZ VA and Congress is the one who is F****ing up the funding. Mr. McCain has held his own in creating and recreating veterans without a plan for their care.
Resign Flaky McCain!!
This is nothing more than an appalling self-serving, despicable game of Scapegoating101. let me break it the fuck down for you:
Any warmongering chickenhawk fucking prick who has (a) been in Congress for the past few decades, (b) voted for two unfunded wars, © failed to vote for the 100% foreseeable and predictable additional funding and improvements that the VA would require to handle the 100% foreseeable and predictable increases in soldiers and combat troops needing medical treatment, frequently extremely extensive, long-term and life-changing treatment, and then (d) sat in Congress throughout the Walter Reed debacle without doing anything to enact funding and fixes…that prick (and I care nothing about party here)…that PRICK has nothing, NOTHING to say to ANYONE about ANYTHING involving long-standing systemic problems in the VA system.
In fact, that prick IS a long-standing systemic problem for the VA system.
McCain fits that bill to a T(ea). So do many many others of both parties who are now trying to cover their asses with Shinseki’s scalp.
Shame. SHAME!!!
