Probably caused by dehydration. Vasovagal Syncope during public speaking is almost always caused by dehydration (from personal experience).
Stay hydrated. Keep a Gatorade handy.

Dehydration and low blood sugar can do this. So, drink and eat before heading out to stand under hot lights and be under the stress of debating. Hope she improves and wins.

This can also happen if someone is overmedicated for hypertension.
I’ve seen it before - my mother’s BP always read high at the doctor’s office, so they always wanted to put her on medication. The medication always made her sick. A home cuff revealed why - her normal, “sitting quietly at the kitchen table” BP was normal (even lower than mine, in fact).

Good to see that one fellow stopped his answer and responded to her immediately. That’s how he should have acted. I hope she recovered completely.
