I don’t know any men who live in fear of castration or who are “preoccupied” with the topic.
The “castrating woman” is a metaphor, nothing else.
And McDonnell is not unattractive, at least physically.
As a metaphor, it is highly pejorative. Unless one equates having his ego disrespected to a bloody assault.
Yes, it is pejorative, but stereotypes exist because they usually have a measure of validity.
The term refers to a personality type that constantly denigrates men, uses frequent put-downs of men whether deserving or not. No one, I’m sure, with whom you could possibly identify.
But you’re changing the subject. You’re deluding yourself if you think men are “obsessed” or “preoccupied” with removal of their testes. So stop saying such things. Otherwise you sound like that mayhem bound woman who poisons the atmosphere in in every social and work environment with her obvious contempt for men.
Adios.
There is no measure of validity. Nor do you know if the Governor’s wife “constantly denigrates men, uses frequent put-downs of men whether deserving or not” and anyway, you didn’t base your accusation on anything she does, but on how she looks. And you have no basis on which to insinuate that I “constantly denigrate men, use frequent put-downs of men whether deserving or not.”
I have heard men hold forth on the castrating woman theme enough to know that it is a pre-occupation. If it weren’t a pre-occupation of yours, why would you have made such an accusation on the basis of a photo of a politician’s wife? By all accounts she was nasty to pretty much everyone. Except maybe the guy who bribed the Governor and her.
So stop saying such things. Otherwise you sound like that mayhem bound woman who poisons the atmosphere in in every social and work environment with her obvious contempt for men.Are you seriously saying that I am obviously contemptuous of men because I noted that you claimed, on the basis of her looks, that the Governor's wife looks like a castrator? That based on my notation of your pre-occupation (and of course it's a pre-occupation --how else could your testicles be relevant to a discussion of a former Governor's sentencing or the photo of a woman you don't know?) I am mayhem bound --that I poison "the atmosphere in every social and work environment?" Really? Why, I almost think I can see you crossing your legs defensively!
Labeling a woman a man-hater, a poisonous element just because she disagrees with you is pretty low.
Adios.
