Discussion for article #247714
Rubio: There was no reason to accept it. I just wanted some attacks on US soil by ISIS and loss of life (preferably white). That would have swayed the election in my favor. Too bad Brussels didnāt happen sooner, I would have been president by now. Instead, all I got was The Bundys.
Does the GOP seem to be getting less and less rational in its stop-Trump scenarios? Whatās next, a Constitutional amendment to allow Reaganās corpse to run?
I think thatās just an indication how this stop-Trump thingy is an impossible endeavor.
āRubio Reportedly Rebuked Cruz Campās Offer Of A Unity Ticket.ā
Ted Cruz: Republican Brainiac.
What could the GOP base of militiamen, Klansmen, and neo-Nazis love more than: An All-Latino Ticket?
Brilliant!
Maybe Rubio was also viscerally repulsed and could not imagine marrying Cruz.
I hate to say it TPM but Rrubio is a totally irrelevant player in all respects in the upcoming election now. He had no natural base of support to begin with. If he bothers to show up in the last several months of his Senatorial career, it wonāt account for much either. Heās like the walking dead now as far as politics is concerned.
The most he can hope for is a job on K Street, but he might have to play the role of an attorney affiliated with a lobby-shop for the sake of appearances, at least for a couple of years before he can legally call himself a lobbyist outright. We all know how it works. They become lobbyists in everything but name and then take on the full mantle whenever the time restraints are over and the money is given towards their real occupation.
Speaking of which, there are many things in this world I donāt think I can ever understand. Heidi Cruz is one of those thingsā¦
Itās my understanding that she comes from a very fundamentalist background also. She may not have as much say as we tend to think a woman should in the marriage. You donāt always marry for love. You certainly donāt get the impression thereās much affection there.
Did that guy call Rubio pompous? No he didnāt! I just love it when the āson of a megadonor,ā acting on behalf of Ted fucking Cruz, calls Marco Rubio pompous. Rubio is a lot of things. Awful things. But heās pretty low on the pomposity scale within the population of GOP presidential candidates.
Rubio did have the occasional glimmer of sanity.
Ricky Ricardo X 2 = Some splaininā to do!!
Have you noticed that started to happen when nothing was on the line for him anymore?
Marco speaks Spanishā¦

Bless her heart, Heidiās addicted to GawdSwill ----- no hope for recovery.
Keep in mind, she suffered with a bout of depression when she moved to Texas to be with Ted, so maybe sheās more like us than we realize.
Rubio, seems to me, to have been groomed for a Presidential run. Much like ultra conservative judges that have been groomed for Federal/Appeals/Supreme court positions. I think the reason he never voted was so that there was no paper trail on what, if anything, he believes in/will stand up forāother than, of course, his belief that heās meant to be President. Those judicial candidates make sure they have no controversial decisions that can be held against them during confirmation hearings and Rubio gives an opponent nothing to hang around his neckā¦other than the fact that he doesnā stand for anything at all exept his āconservative principles.ā
There actually might have been some sense in a Cruz/Rubio ticket, paving the way for a Rubio/Next Shining Star run 8 years down the road. Iām not saying it would have won, but I can understand the thinking. And, Iām also thinking that that belief in himself as President would preclude Rubio accepting a VP slot. And Cruz would NEVER accept 2nd billingā¦ever.
Though the Rubiot2016 is already on the scrapheap, I doubt weāve seen the last of the Rubiot franchise. It will probably be re-booted as the Rubiot2020, or more likely the Rubiot2024. By then the new upgrades will include āprivate sector experienceā software. Of course the new software will probably be as buggy as the old, if not more so.
It will be smaller and lighter, too.
