Here’s the thing, some of these charges are also state charges. Money laundering, for example, is a state charge. So PP can go ahead and issue a pardon and Mr. Schniderman will bring his own charges. As Nick Ackerman said earlier, “Do you want to spend the rest of your life in Rickers or a few years in federal prison?” There’s really nothing to think about.

Another fun fact: This case was made solely on documents. There are no witnesses. That’s important because it speaks to the strength of the case. They’ve got them dead to rights. Their choice are federal prison for the rest of their natural lives, Sing Sing, or flip on PP.

The rub in this is, the Russian criminals like Putin and his cronies that Manafort and Gate were in bed with tend to make people die.
Takes a lot to make someone willing to risk death vs. Federal prison.

Why would the Russians risk being linked to a death in custody? It’s not their interests that are being affected directly if Manafort talks, it’s Trump’s.
