Discussion: Manafort Asks Judge To Dismiss Mueller's Indictment Against Him In DC

I just assume that he’s currently laundering money through his legal team. I wonder if they have hired any outside “experts.”

Alternatively, he needs to keep signaling to Putin’s pals that he is not cooperating with Mueller and would prefer to skip any poisonings, thank you very much.

What whine do you recommend with Casis
Puttanesca?

Well Cotton, arguing the equivalent of “you can’t charge me for the dead body in the trunk because the cop only pulled me over for a broken tail light” is pretty bold strategy. Let’s see if it pays off for him.

Almost all of the Russublican defense these days, Nunes memo, HPSCI investigation closed finding nothing (even though it’s all in plain sight), these Manafort motions, they’re are all intended to gird the Fox nonesense that there’s nothing to this Russia thing and where they did find damning evidence, that 's so out-of-bounds - just because. Fox Newz ingestors will go right along against all common sense and that supposedly will give Criminal Don the window to flaunt our justice system. Trump may give it a go (what’s he have left?) but it’s not going to work for him. Too much evidence, too much institutional momentum.

Manafort has destroyed himself and his family and whatever doom he faces he has earned. Sorry about his family but there might be some enabling there, they just didn’t realize the consequences. May it be a lesson for future conservatives (and their families) hoping to subvert our liberal democracy. Harsh punishment here is due, earned and necessary to stave off future traitorous efforts.

Good point about the daughters.

Judge to Mueller’s lawyers: “Thank-you for your motions and arguments. I will now take the appropriate amount of time to pretend I am giving your ridiculous motions any attention at all before I deny them.”

I’m afraid my naïveté in the practicalities of assassination is showing. It didn’t occur to me that one could get someone killed when they’re supposed to be locked securely in a prison. “Whacked” or “shanked” would be the correct lingo?

Poor Paul. He must be having some sleepless nights, what with two ankle bracelets causing discomfort, and worrying that every bump in the night is either another no-knock warrant or someone who smells of vodka looking to douse him with human bug spray.

It hit me when I heard about the Russian’s daughter being poisoned as well. Probably because I have daughters.

Are there any charges against Manafort that can’t be pardoned away?

Right now… all I see Trump doing is saying “witch hunt” and pardoning him for everything.

And that amount of time is the same time that it takes for everyone to leave the courtroom.

I don’t see a pardon in Manaforts future. Once Gates flipped Manafort became irrelevant. Manafort will do hard time and die in prison, forgotten by all his former “friends”.

If Rosenstein has OKed it–which he likely did or there would have been no indictments–than all is kosher.

A fine white of course. With subtle undertones of pinstripes, privilege and hair tonic followed by a moneyed finish
