My opinions as a Sacramento native (and now ex-pat):

  1. I’m glad the Kings - as horrible as they’ve been since the Stoyakovich/Divac/Bibby/Webber era - are staying in my hometown.

  2. As a taxpayer I loathe sports stadium deals. You want a new stadium? Buy it your damn self. And don’t get all high-and-mighty demanding concessions WHEN YOUR TEAM SUCKS.

  3. Looks like Mr. Thompson already paid a price for pie-facing a former NBA player. Maybe he didn’t think his cunning plan all the way through. He should have picked a city council member.
