The sheriff will grab you by the scruff and escort you out.

Not to deflate your optimism, but the way I read the article, that was the police chief. :frowning:

And we wonder that some Trump supporters can’t understand the instructions for using a voting machine…

“I went up there and talked to him. I told him, ‘I support you and I appreciate what you’re doing. It’s your right, but you’re going about it the wrong way here.’

So says the cop that arrested this bozo. What the fuck is “I support you and appreciate what you’re doing” when the cop should just be doing his fucking job without adding in his fucking commentary. Who gives a shit about what this cop thinks, believes, feels or whatever… Just do your fucking job and STFU. These nitwits don’t need your sympathy even if you’re duty-bound to march them to jail. I don’t know who to be more fed up with…the bozo wearing the t-shirt or this idiot cop and his rightwing expression of solidarity with this bozo.

Really? The world is just too too weird. I shall stick with optimism and go along with "a deescalation technique’ someone mentioned. I shall not be deflated. I will rise!

It could mean the LEO supports Trump, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that. He may have been saying I support your right to free speech and expression. And it is definitely a de-escalation tactic.

But I kind of wonder about whether this charge would stand up. Would “Basket of Deplorables” really count under the statute? I haven’t looked them up, but it’s not an official campaign slogan, and in fact it’s something Clinton said! So idk.

Although I usually go vote with a chip on my shoulder and my passport instead of state issued id I left my ‘Yes We Can’ t-shirt at home in '08 because I didn’t want any trouble.

This is not a new rule – I went to vote in 2012 not even thinking about the “HOPE” t-shirt I was wearing under my jacket… the election officials simply had me zip my jacket up. (They also offered to save my place in line if I wanted to go back to my car and change shirts.

Unfortunately, you’re going to see a lot of white / T-party privilege on display by people who have been indulged in their ignorance and egged on by Trump… and because of what Trump has done, you’ll likely see more people protest their way to jail. (And thereby “proving” to the Drumpf folks that they are being rigged out of their votes.)

The other issue is one of technologies. The e-slate machines that are being used widely in Texas look like touch screens but utilize a rotary dial to do the selections. (BTW – here is the manual for poll workers: http://www.harrisvotes.com/PollWorkers/eSlateTrainingManual.pdf )

Despite the ample instructions – outside the booths, inside the booths, on the screens, etc. – I’ve seen supposedly intelligent people go through the process and nearly break the machines trying to punch the screen (rather than the big red “record your vote” button). Poll workers will - at that point – step in (usually with a weary look on their faces) to assist the voter.

And despite these issues, these machines are much better than actual touch screens which can get out of calibration very easily – especially if the touch screen gets damaged during transport, set up or storage.

This rule has been in force and effect in Texas since forever.

People have been asked to turn tee shirts for liberal candidates inside out, too. It happens every election cycle.

However - what it is with Trump supporters that they all seem to look like one expects Trump supporters to look? I guess it’s a gift from the universe = so we know them when we see them coming.

Not a great ending to the week - I’m almost speechless about the Bundys.

Probably a belated protest against the Mars company for taking red M&Ms of the shelf for a decade. It was a rough time for those of us who lived through it.

This is going to weed out the less intelligent voters. Does not bode well for the GOP. Perhaps you should just let this issue slide

Yes they will…and don’t even think of early voting on Halloween dressed as Catwoman.

He probably didn’t want to turn the t-shirt inside out because the inside said, “Box of Rocks.”
