I do hope the voters in his district wipe that shit-eating grin off his face. There walks a man who really needs a swift kick in the pants. Note that HIS healthcare insurance will not be touched. “Only for me, not for thee.” Bet he calls himself a good Christian, too.

So they’re willing to make employer-based coverage more expensive and raise taxes substantially on most Americans in order to fulfill their promise to kill a hated (by Crazy Base Land, but broadly popular) president’s overcomplicated (but broadly and increasingly popular) market-oriented healthcare coverage program, teeing up a Medicare-for-all vote when the Dems take it all in 2020? Please proceed, Republicans.

This is remarkably short-term thinking from a remarkably long-term project to roll back the last vestiges of social democracy and elevate the plutocracy. Do these House guys know they’re up for election in under two years?

Yes, please proceed “conservatives” (who ‘conserve’ nothing whatsoever).

We’ll get a really good chance to see just how effective your gerrymandering has been after the next election.

I predict a bloodbath if this moves forward.
I also predict they’ll be too cowardly to actually pull the trigger.

"There’s a lot of support for repealing all the Obamacare taxes…

Conveniently dropped is a lot of support from whom

We want to put in place a conservative approach to helping people who need help buying insurance…"

… conveniently followed by the people

I am in favor of the union movement in this county, and unions have fought for the members so that they have decent health care coverage."

Can’t believe he said that. Republicans are doing everything they can to kill unions in America.

I found this and had to laugh at my Southern neighbors in Iowa:

Proponents also say that capping the exclusion could help raise wages for low-income workers, as employers are currently more incentivized to pay them in generous health benefits, given the preferential treatment of health plans by the tax system.

This is one of the most RIDICULOUS bits of wishful thinking there is. I don’t want to offend anyone here but it is “mentally challenged” to say the least!

Certainly should spice up those town halls this weekend. The talking points for Dems are clear:

  • If you’re among the majority of Americans who get health insurance through your employer, the Republicans want to raise your taxes
-If you’re among the majority of Americans who get health insurance through your employer, the Republicans want to make your health insurance (which has been depressing your wages) more expensive.

By today’s Pro$periterian slant on FauxXianianity, he’s damn good… But it just drives 'em berserk to remind them that Jesus loves us —more than them.

So instead of keeping ACA taxes for higher income people like:

$500,000 Annual Executive Compensation Limit for Health Insurance Executives
Medicare Tax on Investment Income. 3.8% over $200k/$250k
Medicare Part A Tax increase of .9% over $200k/$250k

and keeping this ACA tax on corporations:

Medical Device excise tax of 2.3% taxes manufacturers who profit under the law

Republicans are going to pass a tax that is more broadly applied to middle income America. Who wouldn’t be for that?

Get the Vaseline ready. We’re gonna need it.

I doubt that low-income workers would get raises. Employers do not usually offer generous health benefits to low-income workers, and when they do offer benefits many decline because they cannot afford them.

So, not only alienate the voters who will lose health care by repealing the ACA, but also piss off the the rest who think they will be immune to ACA repeal. Sounds like a winning plan to me.
Have at it guys, gerrymandering only goes so far…

so wouldn’t those raised wages have to go to paying for increased health insurance premiums, so the pay increase is really headed to the bottom line profit of the insurance company, oh, and you get to pay taxes on your increased wages, nice

CEO gets a pay increase because of improved profits, FREEDUMB®

I wish Republicans would just hurry up and eliminate taxes altogether. We know they want it, and taxes seem to get in the way of all legislation.

Democrats will now be able to run against republicans on raising American’s taxes. The tables are turning. LOL.

This proves two things

This was never about healthcare it was always about Obamacare 3.8% tax on wealthy – Republicans are desperate to repeal this tax … which will happen during reconciliation … but without this money Obamacare would collapse so of course Republicans are looking toward middle class to make up the difference in this giveaway to the wealthy.

and the other thing which is been proven time and time again

Republicans are not against tax increases they are only against Tax Increases for the wealthy.
