If you’re homeless with no food, go to a supermarket and take what you need. If enough people do this, there’ll be no stopping it.

Realistically, how is the state going to make its determinations in an emergency situation? It’ll either cost them bigger bucks than what they purport to save or they’ll default to No and save even more bucks, but at the expense of a lot of innocent people. And where do they draw the line? What’s the impact for hospitals and ERs? Pure kneejerk decision.

He’s toast in the next election. Meantime, he’s just trying to pad his “nasty-ass conservative” resume in hopes of a corporate or lobbyist gig (which he’s by far too stupid to handle).

I agree. If you are an illegal, go and immediately steal a bunch of food. ICE will then give you a free ticket to return you to your home. Which is Mexico or Guatamala. 1-866-DHS-2-ICE. Deport them.

I have political tourette syndrome. When I attempt to say the words Le Page, Corbett, Walker, Kasich, Christie and a few other politically connected words, the phrase “f#%@ing scumbag” comes out of my mouth instead.

Its extremely embarrassing in conversation.

And what group would be stupid enough to hire HIM for anything? I greatly suspect that when he is replaced by Governor Michaud, he’ll be on unemployment for a good long while.

Don’t forget the illegal Irish, too.

I hope those illegals have guns so they can simply take what they want when they have no food…and I hope they start at the Governor’s mansion!

As someone who worked with these populations for 14 years, I can say with confidence the following:

Under federal law, It is illegal to deny services to undocumented persons in a variety of settings, including the public school system, homeless and domestic violence shelters, police and fire assistance, and emergency rooms. No state can tell those organizations otherwise, nor can they move to legally punish them for defying the legal mandate to withhold services.

LePage is either a completely incompetent idiot, or he is fully cognizant of those facts. I’m sure it’s both, but more importantly, the latter which means this is merely a stunt to throw red meat to the handful of extremist voters in his state he hopes will re-elect him.

As you indicate, the two rationales (actually, all three rationales) – incompetence, indifferent to law, and racist xenophobe – are none of them mutually exclusive.

Gov. Dead Man Walking hates it when the ‘liberal media’ points it out but the kind of fight he likes best is the kind where he gets to kick a man when he’s already down.

I thought LePew was gone? I reckon I missed something. He’ll do well at Faux Snooze though.

The GOP would like to reiterate: “We hate poor people.”

I’m supposing that one of the arguments for this action is that they undocumented shouldn’t be allowed to use tax dollars … fine, then let them work tax-free. (Yes, even undocumented pay taxes.)

Christians! Who hate the poor, despise the weak, spit on the sick and scream out at the elderly “Let 'em die!” Jesus is weeping about Paul LePage, a first class scumbag.

I live about 3 miles from the Maine border in northern NH. Except for the Baggers and the Chamber types, people are embarrassed by this sack of shit.

What about Canadians? Seems like you would have more of them.

Don’t count on it. Maine voters do weird stuff. That’s how he got elected last time
