now… I realize that I live in northern California but I can’t remember the last time I had to show ID to get cash… ATMs are pretty ubiquitous and they don’t ask for a photo ID… just your ATM card… so that ya gotta have ID dodge is getting pretty lame…
for awhile I had to show a photo ID at my medical clinic but even they don’t ask anymore… I kept asking who is going to try to impersonate me when all I’m doing is having a needle stuck in my arm to draw blood… unless someone gets off on rectal exams…

I would be perfectly willing to require photo ID for elections if states were willing to not impose a poll tax by paying all the costs of acquiring said ID. In advance. Preferably by docking the paychecks of legislators voting for such ID requirements.

Darn straight! Did you know that not a single one of the electors that selected Washington was a US citizen at birth? We can’t let that happen again, and voter IDs will prevent it.

I’ve never understood this Voter Fraud thing. WHAT Voter Fraud? And MY dad was a cop. You’d think he would have been busting illegal voters right and left it if was a problem.
I tell people I grew up in North Dakota and it hasn’t had voter registration for almost 70 years and they don’t believe me.

Well, it is easy to understand why the GOP pushes the notion. I’ve given up on trying to understand why so many people seem convinced it is real – especially given that ID laws address only in-person voter fraud. In-person fraud is the most labor-and-time intensive, is the most likely to be discovered, gains only a single vote at a time, and insures that there will be eyewitnesses to a crime that carries severe penalties.

Of course they buy into this, we live side by side with people who are self absorbed, the they live in tick tacky houses, socialize with the same type of people as them. Love to complain about taxes and “those people” getting all the brakes but nothing about businesses getting way more. If the average of these folks is forty years old then the only thing I can think of is polyester and leisure suits, and leisure suits worn with ties wide enough to be considered baby bibs, which is how they act.
