Discussion: Lynch: Aftermath Of Tarmac Meeting With Bill Clinton Was 'Painful'

We, as in those of us who read the June the Washington Post articles that some now

seem not to remember.

I keep thinking of the video with the activists from Black Lives Matter taking the microphone from Sanders and how Republicans would’ve used that in the most repugnant, race baiting, hateful ways imaginable.

Was talking to a guy on FB the other day who, in response to a NYT piece discussing the FBIs agreement over the Russian hacking, was adamant that Russia hadn’t hacked the DNC. He “knew” it wasn’t true because he’d seen something on FB that proved it. Multiple people posted dozens of links from more than reputable sources, and he didn’t believe any of them. I unfriended him. Can’t have that kind of stupid in my life.

We hold an awfully high standard for the rest of the world, don’t we now. And cry the loudest.

And after eight years and you’re still using ‘Black man in the White House’? And ‘I wan’t my unicorn’?

Sorry dj (hehe) but:

You must leave now, take what you need, you think will last
But whatever you wish to keep, you better grab it fast
Yonder stands your orphan with his gun
Crying like a fire in the sun
Look out the saints are comin’ through
And it’s all over now, baby blue

Bernie’s relentless criticism of Clinton was a factor, also. He poisoned her to millions of young people.

I love Bernie.

What transparent bullshit. Millennials never gave a shit about the Sander’s ‘socialist’ label anymore than today’s young voting age Cuban Americans give a shit about what happened at the Bay of Pigs. You’re living in the past and using lame excuses for Bernie’s certain demise. The ‘jewish’ label would have been more of a threat than Bernie as a socialist.

I’m surprised you didn’t express outrage over the fact that the Sanders honeymooned in the old Soviet Union! STFU with your Bernie bullshit.

I think you mean he exposed her weaknesses? And young people saw it.

With that, we don’t need any more post in this thread… it all comes down to that.

BS. And it wasn’t the MILLENIALS that voted now was it? I have great hope for them in the FUTURE but if you SERIOUSLY think they would have put Bernie ‘over the top’ YOU are living in a dream world. Also…‘transparent bullshit’? Did you even KNOW who Bernie was before this cycle? We have a house in Vermont and have been following both Bernie and Dean for DECADES and are well aware of the foilables and strengths of both of them. Kiss off.

I agree there were multiple factors - Josh wrote an interesting perspective on this over the weekend that also takes into account the DNC belief that they had the election sewn up so spent their money running up the popular vote in places where they were assured victory like California - see his editorial On the Eve of Disruption: Final Thoughts on the 2016 Election.

Thanks for that. I hate to have to keep defending Sanders. He surprised the Clinton Gang and she was damaged in the process. It’s not his fault Trump used it against Hillary.

'‘The Republicans do shit’ is an ugly truth but the Democrats worry too much about image, ‘doing the right thing’ and being the ‘good guys’. Talk about bringing a knife to a gun fight!

Just don’t tell me you love Bernie and then trash him in CAPS. And Millennials, like my two sons, voted for HRC after Bernie lost the nomination. And yes I believe they would have put Bernie over the top. Hillary was as foreign to them as the rest of the Democratic Establishment. It was viewed as a ‘change’ election if you didn’t know.

And BTW, while you were skiing winter weekends in VT I lived and worked on Killington Mountain for two years. I think I know a bit more about VT than you do.

Anyone who pretends Hillary lost the Electoral College for any reason other than the savaging of her public image is missing the point.

No, Bill and Loretta didn’t talk about the grandkids for 30 minutes. He didn’t just run over to say hello to a friend without thinking about the consequences—I have seen nothing indicating that the Clintons and Lynches are close friends.

He did it to send a message—that he, Loretta, and Hillary are all part of the insiders club, and Loretta should keep that in mind when making any decision.

I am sure that when Bill saw his plane next to Loretta’s he believed it was chance to meet with her without anyone being the wiser. If it wasn’t for the security detail leaking, no one would be.

Regardless of the issue of how it affected the election or whether Trump is worse, what Bill did was clearly wrong. Like Hillary and her email server, Bill knew it was wrong, but he did it anyway. This is a trait with the Clintons.

And wait until they started on HIS spouse.

Saying that Bernie “damaged” Hillary in the primaries is equivalent to saying that she shouldn’t have been challenged in the first place—it should have simply been a coronation.

You’re right when you think it through. So what, a coronation? Big deal. Move on, handle the criticism, beat on Trump - uninterrupted. But Bernie looked like the perfect fall guy. One way or another, it certainly looked like a win - without being damaged. Actually, it’s a tough call, isn’t it, LOL!

But yea, a coronation was the path to take.

He’s one of the many who admired Stephen Colbert for his Right-wingedness Report.

“Is that Loretta? Is that Loretta’s plane parked right over there? Why, I think I’ll just run over and say hello! I’ve got some stories about the grandkids that I think she would love to hear!”

Do you actually believe that, Frog? Then who is the idiot?
