I wish Nunes were more ethical, but I’m glad he’s not smarter.
Trump was having “conversations” with terrorists and enemies of the United States?
And Republicans are fine with selling out the country??
Dickheads running amok.

White House social media director Dan Scavino Jr. highlighted Nunes’ role as a member of the executive committee of Trump’s transition team, saying “Dems would have NEVER shared!” the same information. [This article]

The effort also involved senior lawmakers with access to classified intelligence about Russia, including Sen. Richard Burr (R-N.C.) and Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), the chairmen of the Senate and House intelligence committees. A spokesman for Nunes said that he had already begun speaking to reporters to challenge the story and that, “at the request of a White House communications aide, Chairman Nunes then spoke to an additional reporter and delivered the same message.” [Washington Post]
there is no part of me that understands how Nunes is even on this investigation, let alone running it. in fact, he should probably more properly be IN this investigation, rather than ON it.
Right. I know he won’t divulge his “sources”, but a reporter should ask him if he was part of the incidental collection.
This is exactly how he wanted it to play out. Nunes probably saw exactly what Trump saw when he twisted it into his “Obama was spying on me” diversion tweet to begin with. And Nunes saw it exactly as President Twitler kept promising that “information would be coming out soon”, The whole damn thing was staged to muddy the waters over the Russia connections and make Trump appear less vulnerable to that investigation by throwing more suspicion onto others (especially Obama).
His entire strategy from before Day 1 was to attack the credibility of the intelligence by attacking the credibility of the intelligence community. THAT above everything else is what made me so certain there was fire behind the all the smoke. Who the hell does that to agencies you are taking control of unless you know they’ve got something on you?
Pelosi is right. Nunes is a stooge.
Right !!! He’s a fucking patriot !! Was that apparently simple-minded move a product of devotion to the GOP or Rump or was his voice detected talking to Russians or did he just fabricate the whole damned thing ?!?!
Elected Democrats should scream everywhere that both Hillary and Obama were exactly correct about Rump and nobody can truthfully say that they weren’t warned. The Rump followers still have their tin-foil hats and rally noisemakers but they have to be shown that they are responsible for whatever Rump and the GOP do to all of us.
There is no part of a real investigation that would have allowed Nunes anywhere near it given his role in the Trump transition. This stunt should have put an end to the charade.
still waiting for the faux outrage from Pinhead Trey Gowdy and the rest of the Republicans on the committee demanding prosecution for the leaker…
someone get some cameras for the grandstanding…
Jeeze dudes, can you lie any more obviously?
Yes, Drumpf was “wiretapped”, but that wasn’t the original claim. You all claimed OBAMA “wiretapped” Drumpf and that is clearly false. This would be hilario8us if it weren’t so fucking serious.
Article not necessary. Everything written is already understood.
Maybe articles not necessary? Not in Russian, right amigo?
If Nunes were honest, he’d resign from Congress for what he did here. He went out of his way to help Trump and to compromise the validity of any investigation that he, Nunes, leads. But that was what he wanted.
I smell desperation in that fundraiser letter. The problem is that even if Trump’s organizations were only tangentially caught up in communications with Russian mobsters, it does nothing to make the larger money-laundering issues go away. Ultimately, the country will not rest easily until every penny that passed through the 100+ Trump companies and entities and Trump’s personal finances are clear back at least eight years. Con artists typically change their sets of associates (including spouses and relationships) routinely. But in becoming president, Trump has painted himself into a corner. Of course, maybe he makes new friends at “Club Fed”.
Nunes was pilloried in the NYT and on Bloomberg. By their editorial boards no less!
If he isn’t just stupid or venal, he is playing a very dangerous game. Should Trump be convicted of crimes eventually (and the odds of that are rising daily), he’s obstructed justice and betrayed his oath to serve the American people.
“You furnish the pictures and I’ll furnish the war”
Too funny!
In one sense, maybe. Otherwise, not so much.
