Often it is the executive producer who invites people to appear on the Sunday talk shows. Everyone knows that John McCain broke the record for invites to appear on Meet the Press and that MTP always invites Graham/Cruz/other extreme right-wingers regularly. Which says a lot about the executive producer.

Chelsea was at NBC News?
Never, as far as I know, did she do any appearances in front of a camera. She was probably involved in research, writing and production. She also was studying for her doctorate up until last spring.

In other words she had a conscience and realized that david douchebag Gregory was a horrible decision and she did the right thing… cause being seen day after day after that clusterphuck decision was too much to live with

Considering the decline of MtP, the trend to invite the same old white, republicans on every Sunday ad nauseum, I think it is a good thing for her to resign. The agenda is set by the executive producer – and between her terrible management, and the equally horrible hosting by David Gregory, I think a sweeping change on camera and behind the scenes is certainly in order.

New host gets the right to choose his/her team. Pretty common. Clearly Chuck Todd wants a different executive producer.

According to the short article, she left her post at MtP for a presumably higher-level job within NBC last summer…

If Betsy Fischer Martin was responsible for the booking of guest on Meet The Press, then I say good riddance. Between her and David Gregory having a 3 to 1 ratio of Republicans as guest and letting them get away with saying their talking points and not asking hard questions is the main reason why Meet The Press when from 1st to last place in Sunday morning news shows.

Hard to imagine it could get any worse. I quit watching it more than a decade ago. I mostly watch the BBC and Asian newscasts now. It is almost impossible to get televised news from American sources. Last night on NBC I watched a segment about a Panda that fooled it’s Chinese caretakers into giving it an air conditioned apartment by pretending to be pregnant. I SOOOOO needed to know that. I mean screw the Ukraine begging for NATO admittance. Show me pandas and puppies(which they also had a segment about).

Hah. Even she didn’t want to stick around for the upcoming disaster, that is sure to be MTP’s newest, Toady Todd. Why stay when you already know the emperor has no clothes?
Hope she goes back and gets that law degree she gave up pursuing years ago…
about time, maybe the right wing revolving door will finally close there.
