Discussion: Lone Star State Gets Lone GOP Gay Marriage Supporter

that’s nice. how does she feel about the concept of women have agency over their own bodies? is she ok with women making decisions, along with their medical care provider, on whether or not to have an abortion? because if she isn’t, then every woman in TX should vote against her. same-sex marriage is coming, whether TX likes it or not, unless they can figure out a way around the equal protection & due process clauses. rep. davis’ support is nice, but unnecessary. abortion, on the other hand, is always at risk, because politicians like rep. davis are too scared shitless of the meatsticks that currently comprise the majority of her party’s base.

let me know when she decides to support her fellow women, then maybe i’ll clap for her.

She personally opposes abortion, but has voted against EVERY anti-abortion bill the state GOP has tried to pass in Austin. She has stated that Government has no place regulating medicine.

Now I feel like I’m waiting for the other shoe to drop. I’m sure there are a plethora of other issues that make her a “republican”, but I’m curious as to what they are. Maybe she can be reasoned with. Half of being conservative is the indoctrination that comes with believing that conservatism is next to godliness and trickle down economics cures everything. Few actually break out of that mindfuck.

Credit where credit is due. Thank you, Rep. Sarah Davis. Thank you for obviously understanding the issue and thank you for supporting the ideas of fairness, equality and the rights to liberties for us gay folks. Seriously appreciated.

…then there are the old-fashioned Country Club republicans. Conservative on fiscal matters, liberal on social issues.

She literally is the, ‘Lone Star’.
