It’s hilarious. The more they go after AOC, the more popular she and her positions and the positions of the Democratic Party become. They are actually inadvertently acting as a megaphone for our views. It’s kind of like a line I recall Peter Ustinov saying to Charles Laughton in the 1960 film “Spartacus”, where they are discussing the beauty of the slave Lavinia, wife of Spartacus: “The more chains you put on her, the less like a slave she looks.”

Yet another example of the fact that, for a large proportion of the American right, the idea of humor without mean spirit is utterly foreign. They can’t conceptualize it. Humor without cruelty? What could that even mean?

I’m not sure if it’s a “good” joke, but I do fail to see why take offence. All of us on both sides seem primed to take offence at the smallest thing. It is in the way of getting on with life.

A good joke is one that makes a person laugh. Just showing AOC can do that, but the line is good.
You remind me of the SNL discussion of Carol Burnett. Her show involved shameless mugging, physical comedy, and pulling off people’s pants. It’s still funny today. SNL has degenerated into Kennan Thompson running “Is you black enough?” game shows. The “high-falutin’” SNL is unwatchable today.
And THAT my friends, is the first sensible thing I’ve read this morning. We all need to LIGHTEN UP. It’s not all about moi, mon cher. Thanks for your comment.

Yes, the MAGAs can never seem to understand that freedom of speech gives them the right to say whatever they want without persecution from the government, but also gives me the right to point out what flaming assholes they are for the statements they make exercising their right of free speech.

Meanwhile, comedians no longer do college campuses. Because humor requires saying something offensive, dirty, or wrong about some people. Even self-deprecating humor leads to Trouble from the Very Serious Harridans of Politically Correct Campus Crap.

My late mother loved the SNL sketches with Christopher Walken as “The Continental” (although not quite as much as she enjoyed seeing Walken dance, because he is a superb dancer), especially when he offered his unseen female companion a glass of “champagna”, which she always ended up throwing in his face.

First of all, I happen to think that AOC is an absolute godsend and that the Democratic Party desperately needed for someone like her to come along.

Love the irony of a meme attempting to question someone’s intelligence included a very basic grammatical error. They really are the Dunning-Kruger party.

Yep, the last almost funny RW’er was Dennis Miller, and he was only funny before he come out on the Right…
I remember a comedy special where the gist was that CFL’s were destroying American freedom, I winced at the shallowness and just plain stupidity…
It’s a wonder to behold how badly she gets to them. I’m running low on popcorn.
