Discussion: Local GOPer Challenges McDaniel: Only 300 Questionable Votes In Hinds County

Discussion for article #225079

Serious question. Tell me what makes a vote questionable.

They way it looked when I voted was I went to a line (D or R) and then the little old lady found me in the book and checked me off.

Unless I voted D and then R, which should have been prevented by the poll workers, what makes a vote questionable?

“I guess inflation occurs in campaigns with numbers just as it does with egos,” Perry said at the press conference.

Oh, snap!
See? Republicans can have a sense of humor!

Who is paying for all of this - if it is the taxpayer - then I would be hopping mad that my tax dollars are being spent here rather than on Healthcare.

Skin color.

My guess, is seeing Joe Smith, Hinds County, voting in the Dem primary, then also seeing a Joe Smith, voting again in the Repub primary.

This guy, who’s smarter than McDaniel, just says questionable because there could be more than one Joe Smith, even one that lives in the same house, and the Jr. could be left off of a signature.

I also pointed out in a different thread, they also could be calling out as quesitonable things like a voter signing his name as A.E. Smith when his name is Albert Edward Smith on the rolls.

I imagine 99.9% of the questionable votes will be this kind of thing.

The 300-350 votes apparently did vote D and then R.

The 8,300 vote will be largely based on skin color.

Maybe I’m a questionable vote then. No way in hell anyone could actually associate my signature with my actual name. I’m less legible than a doctor.

I seriously doubt this, the people that crossed over for Cochran were probably the more politically savvy among the voters. The people that knew the rules and were paying attention.

They compare your signature to the one you registered with. But even then people don’t always sign the exact same, sometimes one uses initials, middle names, etc.

If it’s different at all it can be called “questionable”.

Also, things like strokes, arthritis, a cast, all can change them, but a GOP’er looking for problems could tag them as needing further review.

This must be the voter fraud we keep hearing about. Thank goodness the Republican party is looking out for the country. I mean, 300 - 350 questionable ballots that are just questionable, not necessarily fraudulent but questionable. We need to disenfranchise all black and brown voters to prevent this heinous affront to our way of government.

Actually, each voter when they register is given a unique number, so you don’t have to worry that John Smith is not the correct John Smith.

I think “Questionable Votes” is just McDaniels way of keeping the story going.

No, I think this guy is a Cochran guy. He’s too reasonable to be a McDaniel supporter.

Each voter may be given a unique number but when you are just checking the registry to see potential issues you won’t necessarily see that. That will be what is verified later and the “questionable” status of these voters will go way down.

ETA, at least this is the was the way it was in Riverside County, CA.

You need to use “Tea-Party Math” here.
300 “questionable ballots” + 8000 “Black Votes” = 8300 ILLEGAL VOTES.
Everyone “knows” that Blacks can’t vote in Mississippi.

The way the NTYimes reported this, McDaniel was claiming that more voters were disqualified in Hinds than actually voted in the Democratic primary. So either McDaniel’s claims are wildly inflated and/or he is alleging other reasons for challenging the voters.

My guess is that the numbers are wildly inflated since he is still, as he appears to be entitled to do, seeking the poll books from various counties. Which he and his should only be allowed to examine with strict supervision and several video cameras running.

In any case, the McDaniel campaign was wildly behind the 8 ball. It should have been possible to get a list of voters who voted in this Democratic primary and for his challengers to challenge them if they tried to vote in the run off. That’s what challengers are there for.
