Discussion: Local Cops: Trump Camp Told Us To Kick Black Students Out Of Rally

Just guessing as a non-lawyer but it could be when you rent a space it’s like private property and if you don’t want someone there, for any reason, they have to go.

Trump told them to. Ah yes – and the military will do what he tells them to do too. He’s a leader.

yea, but how do you characteture Trump for that long?

at some point “the Onion” will go out of business too, because there is no difference in the real news.

At least there were no fire hoses…

So two taxpayer-funded organizations essentially participated in violating the students’ civil rights. First, the rally site was Valdosta STATE University and “local law enforcement” provided security and removed the students from the taxpayer-funded building.

How interesting that black students holding a silent protest were ejected for supposedly shouting profanity. I’m surprised that trump’s people are offended by such words had the students actually shouted them.

Why is “local law enforcement” serving in such a capacity?

Yes. Happens frequently in campaigns. Nobody wants their campaign event hijacked.

Regardless their race, it does strain credulity that 30 college students could gather anywhere as a group and for an hour just STFU.

I’m sure W’s people still have a template he can use…

Hah. Ask a Professor teaching a Freshman seminar how hard it is to get them to open their mouths.

It’s kind of a two-step. Trump apparently rented the venue, so he could apparently control who could get in. The police were there because Trump’s supporters are a public menace, um, it’s a public event needing some measure of crowd control. Occasionally a campaign will reimburse local law enforcement for their presence, but I’d be surprised if Trump’s people didn’t. They’ve already thrown them under the bus.

Wouldn’t it be interesting if there was audio of the order? And the impression I got was that the students were sitting quietly until they were removed. Did I miss something?

@steviedee111 IIRC, Jon had already announced his departure when Trump announced his candidacy. Too late to back out, even if he didn’t already want to have some time to himself. But I miss him too. Trevor’s just too nice.

‘Shouting profanity’??? Was that before or after the police decided to drag them out of their own college?

Trump: “the blacks love me”
But it’s appears to be unreciprocated.

I wonder if he has some protester plants on standby in case no real ones show up at an event.

they paid $30.00 a head to get in. if they were deemed “unacceptable” they should have been stopped at the door and got a refund. i think the escort out thing has become a trump strategy.

I’ve tried to watch, but 5 minutes in it’s akin to a relative plugging an Adam Sandler movie into the DVD player.

“No thanks. I’ll be out back pulling weeds.”

Cops are virtually 100% repigs. They are idiots who do what they are told.

That’s rich, coming from the most potty-mouthed candidate in living memory.

I taught 1st year med students. My problem was convincing them they didn’t already know everything.
