The third, un-cited reason is that … well, this involves Judge Roy Moore. And nobody even wants to get close to his crazy and the crazy of his dwindling number of supporters.
So where does Moore’s lawsuit go now ?
Moore is toxic waste. Stay away from it.
Well…there was a story a week or so back about a giant repository of out-of-state sewage in Alabama…
They’re going to have to bring someone in who’s never met Moore. It’s like picking a jury for the town bully, only worse.
Don*t worry Roy , Mommy will sort it out ( as with everything ) .
Make him file the suit in New York. Or maybe California. Lots more judges to choose from.
To Hell, if the people of Alabama get lucky.
I suppose any judge with a teenage daughter would be considered as having a conflict of interest.
Roy ain’t paying for it, so he’s not worried.
Cue the robot from Lost in Space TOS – “Danger Will Robinson, danger”.
Moore is a mobile dumpster fire and no jurist wants to get near it.
Maybe a Skidmore situation?
Recusing: When simply excusing yourself is not enough…
Well, there’s a thought. By the way, there was a very good TV movie many years ago about that case. Brian Dennehy did a great job playing McElroy. He had to wear brown contacts and darken (and grease up) his hair for the role. Like Roy Moore, McElroy preferred 'em young, too.
At this rate, they’ll have to throw this over to Mississippi…
I feel guilty, wondering what his horse thinks of all this.
Hell might send it back. Even the Father of Lies has certain standards, you know.
Wouldn’t most, if not all, AL judges have to recuse themselves, since he sat on the state supreme court? They would have had business before him, because their rulings formed the basis of the appeals that got up to him.
How it’s done depends on on state law or rules, but one way or another a judge from out of the district will likely be given the unpleasant task of handling it.
