Now Trump’s lawyer is saying it isn’t related to a Muslim ban because they know they can’t go there on the basis of equal protection…even though that’s what Trump blurted out as his intention, not just as a candidate, but as President. Now the lawyer is saying its about the countries specifically “of concern to the President from people that have no constitutional rights”. How is that an accepted legal justification when green card holders actually do have constitutional rights and they were initially included in the ban? There is no actual rationale offered to provide why those countries were singled out by the lawyer. I find that disturbing. Its really sad if these judges don’t know how the visa system works and who is involved.

I really don’t think you need to worry about the 9th Circuit. It’s one of the best federal appellate circuits in the US, reliably liberal.

The lawyer representing the immigrants should have made the argument that those countries where actual terrorists have come here weren’t on this fucking list, the whole reason that was stated by Trump to supposedly protect the US…and those just happen to be the same countries Trump has business dealing with. That’s what is so annoying about this argument. Totally left out of Trump’s targeting of those other countries.

Someone said earlier today that the GOP wanted to break up the jurisdiction covered by the 9th and I bet they do.
